• Gibbon Falls - first stop

    After a gathering and bit of a drive in to the park again from the West, we headed north, out of the caldera of the ancient volcano and into the forests and mountains of the park, or as they say "Waterfall Country" - or "Bear country". Gibbon Falls was our first stop, and we got pretty lucky, finding parking for all seven of our party vehicles. Aside from a pretty long wait for the single bathroom, the stop was very relaxing. The expansive forests in the background and the serene valley where the river flowed away were some additional highlights beyond the falls itself, which didn't disappoint.Read more
