Dead Sea

At the end of day 5, we arrived at the upscale David Dead Sea Resort for one night. It is located across the street from the Dead Sea Beach. The Dead Sea, also known as the Salt Sea in the Old Testament, has the lowest elevation and is the lowest body of water on the surface of Earth. The surface of the Dead Sea averages about 1,290 feet below sea level. It has a salinity of 33.7 percent. This is almost 10 times saltier than ordinary seawater.
