Ancient Galilee Boat

The Ancient Galilee Boat is an ancient fishing boat from the 1st century AD. It was discovered buried in the shore in 1986 by fishermen from Kibbutz Ginosar. It took 12 days to excavate the boat from the mud without damaging it and is now displayed in a Kibbutz Ginosar museum.
Kibbutzim, meaning gathering or clustering, is a collective community in Israel that was traditionally based on agriculture. When the first Jews returned to Israel in the early 1900s, they grouped together and shared everything they had (just like in Acts). It was a necessity to survive.
