Old City of Jerusalem

The Old City is approximately a 1/3 square mile walled area within the modern city of Jerusalem. The Old City is divided into four uneven quarters; the Muslim Quarter, Christian Quarter, Armenian Quarter and Jewish Quarter.
The wall that surrounds the Old City contains eight major gates (not to be confused with the Temple gates); Herod’s Gate, the Damascus Gate, the New Gate, Jaffa Gate, Zion Gate, the Dung Gate, the Golden Gate, and the Lions’ Gate.
