    June 6, 2022 in England ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

With the right Royal 👑 Extravaganza extinguished, the four day lavish long weekend over I decided on a more leisurely ladies day 😜Determined to have a FULL English breakfast 🍳 I went on the hunt down back alleyways and cobbled roads in search of just that. Boy! Did I get it! Eggs 🍳 poached to perfection, crispy bacon 🥓 pork sausages, magicAL mushrooms 🍄 grilled tomatoes 🍅 homemade baked beans 🫘 and black pudding (which I reluctantly tried). Just between you & the grease also helped the indulgence in one too many beverages last night! 😜🥳😵‍💫😵‍💫

    HOLD THE FARM!
    …the Jubilee Continues 👑👑👑

My wanderings bought me to Sothebys in New Bond Street and what a surprise… A Jubilee exhibition of amazing and priceless tiaras! Not only were they exquisite but Diana‘s wedding day Tara was on display. See first video. The second video is of Queen Victoria‘s tiara. I died and went to tiara 👑 heaven 😇😇😇 And! Yes LT: that’s the gayest thing I’ve said all week! 🫣🫣😜😜

There was also an exhibition of history’s strongest female monarchs from Queen Mary to Queen Elizabeth II. Feast your senses on these! What a find! There is also a painting which was done by Winston Churchill… It was fascinating! Most of these artworks were hundreds of thousands of pounds and into the millions! And, even better for us poor people, especially after this holiday, lightning speed free Wi-Fi and very comfy couches in our sumptuously decorated reception area…

At this rate The Platinum Jubilee Celebrations May never end! And, why should they! 🥳🎉👍🏻❤️👑🇬🇧

PS: I forgot to mention the beautiful Balan from Romania… 🔥🔥🔥🥰🥰🥰 As I was strolling along Bond Street where all the high-end retail is, this absolutely gorgeous male model type tempted me to come into the skincare shop and he did a full demonstration of face wash and cream… He was so beautiful and a sparkling personality… I wish I had of got a picture of him but I was mesmerised and starstruck and forgot to! He asked me if I knew Dracula… In a sexy accent, and then told me he was the son of Dracula! He was an absolute Charmer!

Damn!… Yes, I also bought the facecream LOL 😝🫠🤦‍♂️🔥🥰

  • Walk like a Man

    June 6, 2022 in England ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

Walked all through Mayfair & Regents Park this afternoon. Then sat in the magnificent Regent Park (where London Zoo is) and had lunch deal (sandwich, drink & crisps for £3.95) and devoured the Daily Mirror souvenir special edition of the Jubilee Celebration 🎉

Then… forgot the Tube wasn’t running due to strike…so more walking 🚶🏻‍♂️ and navigating back home via double decker bus 🚌 which was fun in itself. Always head to top deck. Although, the locals were not finding it one bit fun! The beauty of being a tourist is it doesn’t really matter because you have nowhere to be! Love ❤️ travelling again!

Then… walk to Trafalgar Square Theatre…only 10 minute stroll…how lucky!? This accomodation turned out to be a complete gem 💎

    JUST FYI: I’m averaging 20km a day WALKING 🚶🏻‍♂️

    Wow 🤩

    Front & Centre! Again! C7 🎼🎸🎹🎤

Can’t believe how fantastic these last minute theatre 🎭 ticket 🎫 sites are! The seats are PREMIUM at half price! Anyone coming to London in the future, let me know and I’ll let you in on the secret 🤫

There are 2 sites and by checking each at same time you can get either better prices or better seats OR both! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎉🎉🎉

    Verdict:
Oh! What a night! fantastic show! I didn’t realise that I knew all their songs and the four guys were so talented & amazing… And hot 🔥😜 Love the fashion too: such simple style…

  • Little Louis: Laughable Larrikins 😜

    June 7, 2022 in England ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

Cheeky little Louis deserves his own footprint on my journey! He has brought laughter and fun to the masses the world over! It also highlights how hands-on Kate and William are as parents particularly around PDA which Liz not often displayed.

His behaviour also initiated and delighted us to see the softer side to Charles and even our Queen looked smitten and delighted by her naughty 😈 little great grandson! 😉🥸🤗

    Little Louis you are fantastic!

The gift that just keeps on giving…

  • Shocking Shit 💩 Show Stansted! 😳

    June 7, 2022 in England ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Up early & did the obligatory panic about whether I’d left any personal belongings in the apartment. Did about 5 laps until I was (almost) satisfied so did one more! Still wondering as I left the keys 🔑 inside…🤦‍♂️🤔

I’ve discovered that in post Covid travel 🧳 environment you essentially have to spend the best part of a day travelling 🧭 All airlines ask for 3-4 hour leeway. Then there’s the trains 🚆 buses 🚌 transfers & lots of shanks pony🙃Thankfully, I love ❤️ the exploration and organisation aspects and when you’re already on holiday it’s just part of the fun 🤩
And TIP: work out the time you need to get going THEN, add at least, another half hour 👍🏻

    Now, to Stansted Airport… 😳😳😳
Remember the little Britain produced show called ‘Come fly with me’? I felt like I was in an episode of that…!
What an absolute shit show it is!
The moment we arrived (from a very efficient Stansted express train 🚊) we were greeted with no lifts or escalators working so 100’s were herded like cattle 🐮🐮🐮🐮through a small opening at the first desk with 3 unhappy people checking tickets 🎫

Schlepping up a steep ramp we were next met with extremely long lines of people trying to check-in… Now, if you’ve seen ‘Come fly with me’ then this is clearly got the blueprint of the rude, arrogant & complacent characters directly from! The girls at the check-in desk could not give a rats arse about making things easier and pleasant…forget it! 🫣😳🙄 I wonder if, like the chicken and the egg theory is Stansted the same: which came first? Were the staff already nonchalant and rude or did this happen because of the reputation? I realise that this airport houses budget airlines but does that mean you should treat customers like peasants!? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Staff clearly missed the memo 📝 pasted up at every gate! 😱

The waiting area is surrounded by fast food outlets crammed with people and the middle seating area felt like there was a game of musical chairs going on: People standing to the sides waiting to see a vacant seat and then rushing to grab it! Or, alternatively, deciding to just sit anywhere on the floor… There were people feeding babies, eating lunch and generally just mooching around in a space that is clearly not air-conditioned! I sound like the wicked witch from the west… Melting! 🥵🥵

This is my first negative angled post but I just could not let it go by without providing a special mention of the complete and utter bedlam that Stansted is! (Sorry, not sorry!)

Now! RyanAir…the rumours are indeed true! At the boarding gate the “hostess” yells at the top of her lungs, like a fisherman’s wife, to indicate
“…ya need ya boarding pass out..if youse wanna board..!”

Approaching the stairs to board and I’d really seen it all! The pilot 👩‍✈️ hanging out the front window of the plane, cleaning the windshield!?

Once on RyanAir, on one positive note, the air conditioning kicked in! Phew 😮‍💨 But we were held up on tarmac for over an hour…perhaps the pilot 👨‍✈️ needed to pump up the tyres too!🫣💁🏻‍♂️
Essentially, RyanAir, once in the air, was great 👍🏻 Rose wine 🍷 snickers and bag o chips and all was forgiven….

Cannot wait to arrive in Italy where I will be heading straight to my hotel to wash the stench of Stansted off me… 🚿 🧼 🤣🤣🤣

“Buckle up bitches! You’re in for a bumpy ride..!”
    😳😂✈️🆘⚠️

  • Benevento Italy 🇮🇹

    June 7, 2022 in Italy ⋅ 🌙 22 °C

Took 12 hours to get here, but, oh my god…it is worth it! Arrived sweaty and slightly overwhelmed as I hadn’t had wi-fi for 9 hours & navigation of bus-train combo. Just took a guess at where Hotel 🏨 Miro was, knowing it was on seafront, as I requested a room overlooking the sea! They delivered….in spades ♠️ as expected the host was absolutely lovely and so helpful. She gave me tips on places to eat & explained how to walk to particular hotspots such as Portofino (inspiration for Disney/Pixar’s ‘Luca”
    It’s 11.30pm and I’m comfortably wearing shorts & t-shirt! 🥰

The rain is seafront as I asked for and it is typically Italian in style and decoration… It is really comfortable and has that the spoke Italian feel about it!

After I freshened up, powdered my nose and did the big 3 S’s I was good to go eat…
9pm but I was rewarded for my efforts! I had the most delicious seafood (fruits of the sea 🌊) spaghetti 🍝

Rapallo is right on the waterfront and the seafood in the dish came just out of the boat 50 metres from the restaurant… Honestly, it was so delicious 🤤 It was served with complimentary breads and breadsticks. I ordered half a litre of wine and some sparkling water…Bellissimo! 🇮🇹

Unfortunately, just got a message from Richard who, it seems, is not meant to meet me… There is an air traffic controller strike tomorrow in Genoa and his flight was cancelled! Poor guy! I’m so disappointed because I was really looking forward to sharing this Italian Riviera experience with him… Hope he is okay and coping… It is such a long flight from Australia and to get bad news on arrival is devastating!

Hugs 🤗 from the start of the Italian Riviera leg of my trip.

    Ciao baby 🏖🇮🇹🥰🦞

  • 💚🤍❤️ Rapallo to Portofino

    June 8, 2022 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

Sprung out of bed and threw open the shutters on my window (… you can just see me “springing”!? 😝) with the sea 🌊 view…
Just magnificent 🥰 Breakfast consisted of delicious moist Italian cake 🍰 and pastries orange juice and breads with fresh Italian coffee ☕️

Robyn and Mike I can now see why you fell in love with Rapallo. It is such a beautiful and tranquil seaside village. Everyone is just relaxing and enjoying the sun ☀️ The preferred local pace is snail 🐌 Perfect for recuperation after the Jubilee weekend.

There are not many tourists around at the moment in Rapallo. It is so lovely to be surrounded only by locals. As I wandered along the coast to Portofino (8km) I found an amazing private swimming area. In San Michele. The crystal clear water was the perfect temperature, sun was shining and I had to pinch myself as I looked around me to see the cute coloured buildings and pebbly beach 🏖 ☀️

There are lots of closed off purpose-built beach areas with umbrellas and bathing boxes. But why would you use these when you can find secluded and picturesque places with the locals..? Just beautiful 😍 your senses literally explode and your eyes simply cannot take it in. Photos don’t even do this region justice! If there’s a beach in these photos I swam in it! Just took my clothes off…everyone does…and got in! No one cares about body image they just do whatever they want! It’s so refreshing and food for the soul!

Speaking of food the most delicious gnocchi pesto for lunch at the beautiful little cafe in Portofino. If this is gnocchi then I have NEVER eaten it before… The pesto was out of this world! Delicious vino Blanco and I was set for an hour or two just relaxing and watching the world go by! 💚🤍❤️

Poor Richard was ‘dogged’ with yet another disappointment today. A traffic controllers strike @ hideous Stansted and cancelled flight ✈️ I did some research and helped him get on a flight to Pisa…forget the tower…and come directly to the Italian Riviera.
Toot-Sweet! Can’t wait to enjoy this with him! 😍👍🏻☀️🇮🇹

I walked the 8km (and swam) to Portofino but decided to take the boat trip back along the coast…great idea: the views - Spectacular!

This is Living! I want more! ☀️☀️☀️🏖🏖🏖
    💚🤍❤️

  • Richard finally touches down!

    June 8, 2022 in Italy ⋅ 🌧 21 °C

6 pm and I was beginning to worry because I have not heard from Richard so to calm my nerves I definitely needed to have a dry martini 🍸 then low and behold I heard from the man himself… Arrival at last! Let the debauchery begin! 🤪

In true shenanigans style we headed straight to a little bar in the back alley to have some pre-dinner drinks… Aperol spritz! They were delicious and much needed for both of us: Me maybe due to too much sun and sea today 🌊 & Richard due to too much travel! ✈️✈️✈️ Not only did we get our Aperol Spritz but we were delivered an exciting and delicious tray of treats! A gorgeous wooden board with many delicacies…such a pleasant surprise 👌

We then headed to a gorgeous little restaurant overlooking the bay in Rapallo… The waiters were so kind and friendly and… Hot 🔥
Richard had the gnocchi with pesto which I recommended after having it for lunch. Thanks to mum and dad for this dinner and drinks which they contributed to… We thank you and love you very much and you can rest assured we enjoyed every sip and mouthful x

There is nowhere in the world where pesto tastes so fresh and vibrant and the gnocchi is way ‘out of the park’ in every way shape and form… The sexy waiter 🙃 also brought over the basil 🌿 plant 🌱 in case Richard wanted even more authentic taste upon his delectable morsels! 😋
Not to mention at the end of the night the waiters brought out a large bottle of lemoncello and shared it with us, complimentary! How could we say no 😝😝

It is so good to have Richard here at last! I really enjoyed being able to chat with a good mate about what’s been going on for both of us and it was so much more enjoyable to have stimulating and controversial chats and discussion! 🙏👌🥰🍸🌈

There were a few showers of rain tonight as you will see the pictures but it did not the perturb us… Good honest genuine tourists like us never get scared off by mother nature l, we embrace it and we move on and continue to experience all of these ‘money can’t buy’ moments!

Welcome to Italy 🇮🇹 Richard 🥰👍🏻🏖☀️

  • Un altro giorno in paradiso

    June 9, 2022 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Amazing breakfast 🍳 of fresh fruit 🍉 with taste. Also egg 🥚sweet bread and apricot jam. All devoured in the beautiful jasmine garden with the popular potted basil 🌿 on each table: typically Italian ❤️🤍💚

On exiting our hotel lobby we were delighted 😁 to discover there was a wonderful market that ran all the way along the foreshore of the beach. Richard and I wandered along the wide and varied merchandise stands. Richard tried his best at haggling and took a considerable amount of time choosing a five euro watch for himself! He also invested in a beautiful signature ring. Both of these items are available for perusal in today’s photos. 💍 ⏰

We then wandered through the alleyways of Rapallo until we found one of the few cafes that were open during Siesta! Unfortunately for us the cafe owner was not very proficient in English, and why should she, being a proud Italian?! Richard was so jet lagged that he thought the English Menu was written in Italian 🤦‍♂️✏️ Both of these factors created a calamity of indecision…we still greatly enjoyed the fresh ingredients on our meat & cheese 🧀 platter. Oh, and our mojitos & wine 🍷😉 It was a very popular cafe, probably because it was one of the few still open for lunch! You’ve got a love the relaxed and laid-back Italian way of life 💚🤍❤️

    Next stop Vernazza! 🚂

It is always a little bit anxiety producing catching Italian trains because they arrive exactly on the dot. If it is arriving at 2:01 pm it will be there and if you are not on the right platform you miss out!
There is always a sense of relief when you reach your destination…

Rapallo. You have lived up to your reputation & then some..! 🥰🥰🥰

  • Oh Fuck! 🥺😢😩🤬

    June 9, 2022 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

So, I’m sitting here at 10pm looking out to sea 🌊 at what should be Paradise and blissful but this afternoon has been the first challenge of negativity of my trip!

Let’s get the obvious out of the way first… Vernazza is, as you can see from the photos, truly beautiful. The proprietors and business owners; not so much!

So, we arrive at picturesque and postcard pretty Vernazza… Everything should be perfect, just like the brochures say it should…

    Here is my experience…

Off the train and I am so hot 🥵 that I could almost blow smoke rings out of my arse!

Look carefully they said, there is only one street they said, you will find your accommodation, they said… it’s so easy, they said. So, off we schlepp but we just couldn’t find our accommodation. And there are tourists spatially unaware everywhere!

Already having more than wonderful experiences with beautiful, honest, caring and considerate Italians in Rapallo (and most other Italian cities and towns) I thought the best thing we could do would be to simply ask if I could tap into the Wi-Fi at a bar or shop so that I could phone 📞 my accommodation provider.

The first bar I went into point blank rudely turned me away, being told there is no way I would be able to use their Wi-Fi… I informed Richard and said we probably need to go back to the station to ask tourist information ℹ️, after all, that’s what they are there for. To GIVE tourist information!? So off we went… Through the hordes of tourists! Rudely walking past & through you as you attempt to navigate your way up the main road/pass with heavy bags. 😫

Finally get up to the station to speak to the man in charge of tourism information ℹ️ … Clearly not a position he should be holding down. It seemed to be putting him out and to be the most inconvenient & biggest effort for him and he couldn’t possibly afford to even give us a shred of politeness and care considering our dilemma. ‘Informing’ us, there is only one street, it shouldn’t be hard to find…!?!?🤪😡

Eventuality, after reluctance, he decided that he would call my accommodation provider. ‘Informing’ me (as he is paid to do) that my accommodation provider would meet me at the pharmacy on the main street. Sounded like a reasonable plan to me… So off we went…

On arriving at said Pharmacy I walked in and politely asked the pharmacist if he was aware I was to meet my supplier in his shop. He threw his hands in the air without skipping a beat and said he knew nothing about that & he was “…just the pharmacist!” And walked off! Rude! Arrogant man! Plain. Simple. Rude! 😤

Finally my host did show up and took me up 40 extremely narrow & dangerously steep steps to my room. (I dare not even photograph those steps because, not only would my own Mother pass out with fright for the safety of her only son, but these shiny/slippery steps break all kinds of OH&S protocols & rules.) Remember also, I was already as hot 🥵 as a lobster 🦞 in a boiling pot, had to lug a 17kg bag up said 40 narrow steps and had been treated like shit already by a handful of “tourism providers” (…I use the term loosely!)

Open the door, relief 😮‍💨…it looked good. She said she was in a hurry and quickly showed me the basics. I asked for the wifi password and she informed me it is not working at the moment! I politely (again) explained to her it’s a shame & inconvenient because it is my only access to the outside world. She shrugged her shoulders and left…☹️😠😣

It took me 20 minutes to try and work out how to lock and unlock the door. Richard may have a different story here, but regardless, it was an extremely anxiety producing for me and I was at breaking point by now! After much twisting and turning of the key I finally worked out how intricate force and ‘safe-like’ precision must be applied at a certain angle carefully for it to be opened 😩

By this stage both Richard and I were in dire need of some water. This should’ve been an extremely simple task but we were greeted by a very gruff & unreasonable convenience store owner who refused to take card payment and insisted on cash 💷 only. In this post Covid world it is completely unreasonable to insist on such a thing. I tried to keep cool but, as you can imagine I was hurting inside. What an arrogant bitch she was. As you may imagine I was at the stage that I felt like telling her to stick her water where the sun don’t shine but I needed it more than I needed air at that point! 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ This entire ‘shit show’ reminds me of my experiences in Paris. This sheer arrogance, self entitlement and dismissive nature of the residents who rely on us to exist simply turns me off! 👎🏻

I composed myself the best I could and reminded myself where I was, how lucky I am and decided to go for a swim. I felt instantly better as I frolicked in the water. Yes! I did use the word frolicking because I need to have some sense of positivity within this blog…😉💪🏻

Richard and I met at seven, as arranged, and looked for a suitable place for dinner… Every single restaurant was discovered to be way overpriced, knowing the captive audience they have. Regardless, we chose one that looked nice; up on a platform overlooking the main street. We ordered the shared seafood platter… It consisted of 5 SMALL PLATES: rubbery octopus, two different kinds of anchovies: one fried and one boiled 🤮🤮 some paste that resembled fish roe dip mixed with grated carrot and some morsels of boiled fish which was passable. Oh! Hang on, I forgot to mention the bag of stale bread that was thrown…yes…THROWN upon our table as we sat down… I’m not exaggerating, it was stale and it was tasteless! Robyn, do you recall the gorgeous bread bag I shared with you and Mike in Lucca? We experienced how wonderful real ‘bread 🥖 in the bag’ should be! 👎🏻 Second course of AVERAGE pasta with what tasted like store bought jar pesto mixed through it 👎🏻 Not a patch on the last couple of nights. Not even fucking close! 🙄😡

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse there was a huge thunder clap & lightning ⛈ very, very frightening…🫤 and some rain began to fall. Everyone ran for cover, even though it was really just a passing summer shower. Once again Robyn, you will recall our rain experience in Florence? Where we were able to put up our umbrella and enjoy the moment… We weren’t even given that option in this case. I would’ve happily put up the umbrella and waited the 10 minutes until it passed. ☔️We were ushered into their less than adequate indoor seating space resembling a spare room at grandmas which was also as hot as hell! I kindly asked if the air conditioning could be put on & the owner only saw fit to open the door slightly. 😭 Tight ass! 🤯

By this stage I had an absolute gut full of the whole afternoon and night. The service was crap 💩😩particularly when compared with last night. To try & compose we went and got a gelati which was also average compared to what we had in Rapallo. 🥺

Everything was closed by 9 pm! Richard decided to go up to his room but I sat on a bench by the beautiful waters edge to compose myself and practise some mindfulness to alleviate the burning disappointment that had been generated deep within me… 😢

I suppose, essentially I am just sad and disappointed more than anything else because I had built-up the Cinque Terre so much in my mind & from watching you tube, research & reading that it just wasn’t living up to any of the hype and well below expectations 😥 I have a feeling that the shop owners and proprietors in Vernazza think the immense beauty of the location & landscape will overshadow their arrogance & self entitlement. Newsflash: it doesn’t! 😖 😥

Anyway, I feel better for getting it off my chest but you probably won’t even get to read this in real time until I am (hopefully) feeling better… because it seems we won’t have phone 📱 access until we leave! 🫤

Think it’s important to demonstrate that not every day can be good, even in ‘paradise’. And, may I say this afternoon was about as fucked up as it can get! 😢😠😡

I remain positive and hopeful that things will turn around tomorrow… but once again, you may not know until this leg of trip is over because Richard and I both don’t have wifi in our apartment and none of the restaurants will let us use it…🤨🤯🙄

I don’t quite understand why these places that rely solely on tourism need to be such cunts to the tourists! 🙄🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️Especially after the Pandemic 😷 You’d think they’d be bending over backwards to offer exceptional customer service rather than treat us like nuisances!

As I said, let us hope that tomorrow is another day and a better day… Fingers crossed that this is one bad afternoon and that is all it is…🙏
Also, I hope Richard forgives me for my grumpy and irritable attitude…🥺🥺🥺

PS: this is an update to the above… I have woken up early at 5 am because the ‘double’ bed that was advertised is two beds; shabbily pushed together that have moved apart in the night… The bed is as hard as the floor and the air-conditioner sounds like an aeroplane ✈️ taking off! Oh! And the bracelet I purchased at the market yesterday had broken and fallen off in the bed. 🙁🤦‍♂️💩

I am going to have to practice calling on my inner strength & summoning my positivity and resilience deep deep deep from within today. Mindfulness will hopefully save me as it often does. I can’t let this experience sour the rest of my trip because there are so many more wonderful things still ahead of me! As the little red caboose said, I think I can, I think I can!🤞🤞🤞🙏

PS: Enjoy the pictures… As you can see it is a beautiful location. But as the old saying goes: not all that glitters is gold. 🙅🏻‍♂️😢😢

  • Monterosso: We ❤️ You!

    June 10, 2022 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Let me start off by being extremely positive today! Richard and I woke up, had breakfast and headed off to Monterosso! What an absolutely amazing, enthralling, challenging and beautiful walk it was! We both found it challenging and I was proud that Richard kept pushing on and he was equally proud he did because the end result was everything I had heard about the Cinque Terre and more! More beautiful in scenery, landscape and spaciousness but more importantly, the people were everything I remember Italians to be: friendly, welcoming, kind, generous and innately humorous… What an absolutely beautiful town it was. And how different the inhabitants were! You could feel a difference in the air. Hard to describe but it reminded me of Mykonos with its beautiful alleyways, sloped spaces, hundreds of cute little restaurants and WELCOMING smiles! Thank you Monterosso you have restored my heart and soul and love of Italy! 💚🤍❤️

On returning to Vernazza I had dread in my heart… All I am going to say is this: I actually think even the locals don’t want to be here (obviously not, but seems like it!) I concede that I made a mistake in booking into this town for our specific requirements in a holiday destination. Had I chosen Monterosso things may have started off differently. Who knows? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ We live & learn. It is what it is!

My morning started off by heading up to the information counter at the station where I was greeted with the same nonchalant attitude as yesterday. Thankfully a wonderfully beautiful couple from Canada heard my questions and spent 20 minutes telling me all about the walks, the best way to proceed, tips, hints and everything any other tourism bureau would and should offer. It was wonderful and informative and said results for the success to follow. I’m not speaking without experience; I also worked in tourism and if I’d have been as wet & unhelpful as the staff in V I wouldn’t have lasted a week!
    💚🤍❤️

It took about 2 1/2 hours on very steep cliff tops and steps. But, I loved every single minute of it! I feel exhilarated and accomplished. Was just such a magical and beautiful day! Restoration of my faith in humanity! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

I desperately tried to convince Richard to stay in Monterosso for dinner but understandably he was plum ‘tuckered out’ and wanted to head back to that place which I shall not speak of in name, just as “V”!

So, please enjoy the wonderful images of the spectacular walk along the path from the place we’re staying at to Monterosso! I’m sure you’ll agree they are out of this world!

As soon as we arrived at the end of the walk there was an instant opportunity to dive straight into the crystal blue sparkling water. I could not resist or get in there quick enough. I just took everything off except my jocks and went straight in. It was like nothing you can imagine after a 2 1/2 hour hike! I felt instantly refreshed. We had lunch atop a magnificent cliff top and then spent the afternoon wandering around looking at the most picturesque of towns. Just so Stunning 🤩😍✊🏻🥰

A friendly local business owner informed us of a bar where we would be able to get reception and Wi-Fi which was also a relief because I could inform my parents that everything was okay. I love them very much and it was distressing to know they were worried. It was such a relief to be offered the use of connection by this bar in town. I thanked them from the bottom of my heart! Incidentally, I had actually started to embrace the fact that I was completely void of technology. I hope to transfer some of this behaviour in my life when I return home 🏡 and asked Richard to keep me in check if I stray! We are FAR too invested in technology these days and I feel I need to start living in the moment more back in Australia 🇦🇺

On arriving back to V I headed straight for the water for another swim. Interestingly the swimming harbour was full of seaweed and rocks which was symbolic of my experience here. Enough of that! I think you get the idea now! 👍🏻😉🙃😂

Richard and I had the most delicious pizza for dinner back in V and was served by the most gorgeous of Italian men who actually made the pizza 🍕 lovingly in his oven. He was as sexy as they come! No photo unfortunately lol 😂 Sorry Mummy! 🤣 Both Richard & I were equally disappointed for us (but happy 😊 for him) when he showed us photos of his cute daughter 🫤🤩😉😉😉

Richard has headed to bed… It is 11 pm and I have taken the Cinque Terre express back to Monterroso for one last lemon spritz in this beautiful little village! It is magnificent! I love it love Love Love love! 🍋🍋🍋❤️❤️❤️Everything I know and love about Italy 🇮🇹 is contained herewith 🥰🥰🥰👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

As I enjoy my Lemoncello Spritz please enjoy magnificent wonderments of our day of hiking 🥾 and delighting. Viva Italiano! 💚🤍❤️
