• Silent in "Solitude"

To escape the busy city life, even William Penn's grandson, John Penn, needed some spacious "Kansas-like" countryside. So, in 1784 The Solitude was constructed to be just this, and now lies within the Philadelphia Zoo that was built up around it. It is a beauty among so much modern architecture, but stands in true solitude as thousands of spectators pass by from day to day within the zoo. #countrylifeisbetterLäs mer
