Cedar Falls/Canyon Trail

After driving in from Bull Shoals today, we checked out the Visitor Center at Petit Jean State Park while waiting for the tail end of the rain to pass by. Then we set up camp and headed out to see some sights. We started at Mather Lodge , which was beautiful to see. It is perched on a stunning overlook. From there, we took the Cedar Falls trail to the bottom of the canyon...loved it!!! At the bottom, after crossing the creek, we went left and hiked another mile downstream into the canyon. The rain and clouds made the temp comfortable. We eventually turned around and retraced our steps to the lodge. The climb up was moderately difficult. I'm glad we weren't at a higher elevation! After we refilled our water, we drove over to the Cedar Falls overlook. It was a short boardwalk with an awesome view.
