Athabasca Falls, Jasper National Park

We checked out from our cabin, and started our route to Canmore. The plan today was to visit Athabasca Falls, Sunwapta Falls, and find a spot we could stop for our picnic lunch. The weather was moving from one extreme to the next along this drive. We had temps as low as 6c, all the way to 18c, with some light rain showers in between. With varied weather like this it was evident we were still in the glaciers!

Athabasca Falls was a nice stop. A nice little hike to stretch out our legs and take in the spectacular views of the falls. Coming up close to these falls you really get a sense of the power behind them. Josh put the falls to the test by throwing in a log at the top only to see the log get swallowed up in seconds, never to be seen again. What an incredible force.Læs mere
