Christiania

Christiania was certainly an interesting place on our walk today. Is a self-proclaimed district of about 850 to 1,000 residents. It was temporarily closed to the public by the residents in April 2011. Christiania has been a source of controversy since its creation in a squatted military area in 1971. Its cannabis trade was tolerated by authorities until 2004. In the years following 2004, measures for normalizing the legal status of the community led to conflicts, police raids and negotiations, however, the cannabis is prevalent in the area now, clearly being sold and smoked. I was even asked by security guard not to take a picture of Pusher Street (where the drugs are sold in stalls), I walked a few metres down the street and took a photo anyway.Baca lagi
