Old Petrie Town

Today we decided it was time to explore out of the CBD. We started driving to Caboolture Historical Village but while driving I worked out that is was closed. We were already on the road so we managed to find another Cultural Village called Old Petrie Town.

The village is a little run down but is rather cute. The village has a number restored historic houses which spread across 48 acres of parklands.

A number of the buildings where closed as they have more trade on the weekend but the ones were walked through were quite nice. The museum was excellent. We watched a 15 min movie explaining the history of Pine River and the families. This was most informative especially with the added animation displayed during film.

We had morning tea and lunch at the Hotel which, in its former days, would have been spectacular and wandered around the streets looking at the buildings, some needed a little restoration but in general the set up is quite good and worth the visit.Læs mere
