    Point Wild is where Shackleton's Party beached after the Endurance sank in the Weddell Sea and is named after Frank Wild who was the leader of the 22 men who remained living under a lifeboat for 4 months while Shackleton and 5 of his men took the James Caird and sailed to South Georgia. Shackleton returned 137 days later and, after 4 attempts, rescued his men using a Chilean naval ship in August 1916.Read more
