Pussellawa is halfway between Kandy and Nuwara Eliya.

Pussellawa is home to several religious sites, including the Holy Trinity Church, Sri Kathirvelayutha Swami Kovil Murugan Temple, and Holy Trinity. These sites are significant to the local population, particularly the Tamil community, who have a rich cultural heritage and have settled in the tea-growing areas of Sri Lanka's central highlands. The Holy Trinity Church, built in 1859 by Europeans who were tea planters, The Sri Kathirvelayutha Swami Kovil Murugan Temple, originally built in the 1880s, reflects the Tamil influence in the region. The Holy Trinity, established in 1976, serves over 100 children from various religious faiths in Sri Lanka.
