Hiked Apple Tree north to Anchorage. 4.5 miles, moderate ups/downs, all beautiful.
The early morning sun cast beautiful shadows on the trail.A little 360 view of the path crossing a river. This is a Waka (aka: woodhen): flightless bird endemic to NZ.Adding more to my current path? Maybe next time. The trail was pretty diverse structurally speaking.1This might be my first individual selfie...This viewpoint just took my breath away.Tap your inner K Carpenter & sing w/ me: 🎼 I'm up on top of the world lookin' down on creation 🎶Almost there...the paths are all nicely marked.Homestretch.Hike done, taking ferry back to Kaiteri. View from boat. One slow pass by Adele Island where some fur seals hang out.Hike overview. On the way 'home', I pass over this bridge. Kids jump off the one side & slide under thx to the tideThis is what they slide into . . . great place to be a kid!!A little more 'hiking' to get back to the unit.Sunset from our deck. It's going to be tough to leave here.

While Mark was polishing his fly-fishing skills, I returned to Abel Tasman for a nice little hike.
