Ilot Gabriel

Today we went on a catamaran boat cruise to Island Gabriel, which is 20km north of Grand Baie. The water was crystal clear and so warm! We swam, relaxed on the beach and explored the rock pools. It’s right next to a reef so there were some amazing coloured fish swimming right at our feet! We had lunch and drinks on the boat. We were one of the few people on the cruise who spoke English - most of the people were speaking French. Jacques was disappointed he was missing out on all the jokes 😂

On the way home, we saw a school of dolphins which was really cool. We also got right up close to Coin De Mire (Gunners Quoin) which is an island made from rock with a really pointy tip. You can see it from Cap Malheureux which is where we had lunch yesterday.

For dinner we went to a delicious Portuguese restaurant called Neo’s. We had grilled calamari and prawns in lemon sauce and Portuguese chicken with chilli, lemon and garlic. Gus had a “9/10” curry!
