    Mt Cook

    April 20 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

Someone we met told us about a walk and camp spot at Mt Cook which sounded amazing, so we spent the last two days doing them. We didn't have a carrier for Rosie, so we picked one up second hand on the way. The road from Queenstown to Mt Cook was incredibly scenic, and we found a lovely camp by lake Pukaki, which had great views of the Mt. The next day, we drove to the start of Hooker Valley trail, which is right up in the mountains, so we parked surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The walk took us up to a glacial lake at the foot of Mt Cook. It was 5km to get there and Rosie walked most of the way, with quite a few snack breaks! It's supposed to be the best walk in NZ and I can see why 😀 Where we parked is also a camp spot so we're spending the night here, great views but I think it'll get cold!Read more
