  • Munich

    29. juli 2024, Tyskland ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Saw Munich from the sky thru the airplane window and thru the train we rode. Lots of lakes, green pastures with tall pine trees. Little towns spread every where but the city of Munich is huge. A major part of their land is agriculture fields. Corn and wheat is what I saw the most of. Maybe one day we can actually do a proper visit. So long for now😁Les mer

  • Day 1 Spain to Austria

    29. juli 2024, Østerrike ⋅ 🌙 17 °C

2 planes, 2 trains, and an automobile taxi (if u know, u know😁) with a 20 min walk at 10:30pm on the streets of Salzburg to the hotel for a total of 11 hrs traveling. Boy, were we tired but I'm grateful that William navigated us perfectly in a country where everything is in German. We are seeing another part of the world and can't wait to see all it's beauty. We are also celebrating someone's birthday tomorrow🥳
By the way, we love pretzels and looks like were in pretzel country😋

  • Day 2 in Salzburg

    30. juli 2024, Østerrike ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Today we celebrated William turning 56 years young💪 Not sure if you knew but William's grandmother on his dad's side was from Austria. Even though much is not known of his Austrian acestory, it's so cool to be here. We started the day by going on a gandola ride up to Untenbergs Mountain. I thought we were just going up to a lookout point but I was wrong. Once we reach where the gandola stopped, we hiked up to 6000 feet and the views were like no other. Austria on one side and Germany on the other. Our bodies had no problem with the climb which was great. We haven't walked long distance or hiked in 5 days so I thought that there might be a struggle but no chance. Bodies are still engaged and ready💪🦵🦵Les mer

  • Part 2 of Day 2 in Salzburg

    30. juli 2024, Østerrike ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Our 2nd stop was to Schloss Hellbrunn Palace. Built in 1613. Here lived a Prince Archbishop for the Roman Catholic Church. We felt that in honor of William's birthday that roadies were in order. Nothing like taking a tour with a beverage.Les mer

  • Part 4 of Day 2 in Salzburg

    31. juli 2024, Østerrike ⋅ 🌙 19 °C

We ended the day by taking William to a nice birthday dinner at a restaurant called St. Peters Stiftskulinarium that claims to be the oldest restaurant in the world. Established in 803. We didn't have dinner reservations but they took us in anyway. The chicken piccata was the best I have ever had and William's steak was like butter. He got a call from Keaton that made him emotional. I love that about him. He doesn't hold his true feelings behînd. Happy birthday Husband!Les mer

  • Day 3 Last day in Salzburg

    1. august 2024, Østerrike ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Another day of sightseeing. Our 1st stop was to Hitler's Retreat, Eagles Nest up in the Alps. There's nothing special about the house itself. Now used for a few restaurants. It's the views and history. While I was riding the shuttle to the top, going thru the tunnel, and looking at the famous fireplace, I was filled with so much emotion. So many lives lost, so many countries making extrodinary sacrifices during WW2. Recollecting scenes from Band of Brothers. Maybe because I have a son serving his country or just maybe because I can't wrap my mind around the monster Hitler and his military leaders were. I felt a strong urge to pay my respects. To say Thank you to every man and woman who served/ who currently serve their countries. For all the sacrifices. Thank you to all the families who held it together while their babies went off to war and so many never came home. I stand here today on this mountain looking over these Alps paying my respects. Their lives and sacrifices dont go unrecognized. Sorry for the rambel. I'm a proud american, I love this land, and I stand proud to salute our beautiful flag because I understand the cost and what it truly represents🇺🇲🗽Les mer

  • Day 4 Salzburg, Austria to Venice, Italy

    1. august 2024, Østerrike ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Venice, Italy... here we come. William almost made us miss our train by pulling a Mexico mishap (I'll tell u the story, just ask me when I see you) but I questioned his actions and I got us on the train. This is one of the many reasons he keeps me around he says, lol🙃
We didn't have assigned seats, we chose randomly, and we sat by a lovely soul named Hellie from Austria. Teaches high school. She was on her way to a family réunion that she has been doing every so often for the past 32 yrs. She became our tour guide and told us all the best places to visit on our next trip in Austria. Even had tidbits for Italy. The conversation was so lovely that she invited us to come stay at her remodeled farm house that she inherited anytime. Maybe it's common here in the UK to offer up your home to people you only spoke to for 2 hrs but in the states we don't ever do that. Not saying we should but we can learn something here. We need to be more open with our hearts and minds. Less judgey of one another and let experiences be ok that are not common to you. So long Hellie, safe travels and we'll see you soon☺️

  • Part 2 of Day 4 Venice

    2. august 2024, Italia ⋅ ☁️ 24 °C

Pinch me... Im in Venice. 95 degrees with 95% humidity. After buying our city pass and taking the river taxi, we only had time to do 1 museum before 6pm. Everything closes at 6 which makes no sense. 1st stop was the Palace of Ducele. This is where all politcal and business décisions were made for the city. It was also a prison. The photos don't it justice to show how big these rooms were. How big the paintings are. The Palace is huge.Les mer

  • Part 4 of Day4 Venice

    2. august 2024, Italia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

After a lovely chicken salad dinner on the steps of a lovely home with a fantastic view, we just walked the streets and took in the sights. It was cool coming across a bridge that I've seen in several movies. This one was the Ponte de Rialto. People watching is always fun. William has a good laugh when he sees the young ones possing for that perfect IG shot, lol. Gandola rides look lovely. They run about 110 dollars after 7pm. It's too hot to ride them before since they have no shade. We'll ride them on our next trip out here.Les mer

  • Part 5 of Day 4 Venice

    2. august 2024, Italia ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

We found a Hard Rock Cafe that had a happy hour so of course we had a few cocktails. We met Rem and his partner from London but originally from Minnasota and we got good tidbits on a few places to see in Florence since they just came from there. Walking the streets and seeing people sing songs because they want to put a nice smile on my face. To hear it in their voice and see it in their faces a song they enjoy is a good contagieuse feeling. My favorite moment of the day is listening to a înstrumental band play She from Elvis Castelo and singing along as I'm trying to get William to dance with me while he's making a video for his channel in the middle of St. Marcos Square. Spinning in circles like they do in the movies, Looking up with my arms spread out , the sun in my face, not caring who sees me because I'm the only person there... classic.Les mer

  • Day 5 Last Day in Venice

    2. august 2024, Italia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

What a fun day today was. We started the morning by renting motor scooters. We took them across the island called Lido Island. Sometimes, we don't do things because we are afraid, or we let anxiety control us. Was I a little apprehensive when I 1st got on the scooter not knowing most street signs or their traffic conditions? Of course, but you know my motto... Fun and Easy, so it was. We found a non private beach and went swimming in the Adriatic Sea. Water was cool but not cold. I can now say I have swam in the pacific and atlantic ocean, and now the adriatic sea. We rode around the whole island and we found ourselves a burrito and taco restaurant so we had to try it. Their nachos were different but tasty.Les mer

  • Part 3 of Day 5

    2. august 2024, Italia ⋅ 🌙 25 °C

We went to quite a few museums today.
1st stop was the Museum of Palazzo Moncenigo. 2nd stop Natural History Museum. The 3rd stop was Messuem of Correr. There is so much beauty to see. Hard to crame Disneyland in 1 day, which I hate to do, especially in the humidity that goes on inside and outside these ancient pretty buildings. At the same time, it never gets old to see the bueaty of history. Favorite moment of the evening was being in the grand ballroom at the Correr Museum all by ourselves and William putting on the song She from Elvis Castelo and dancing like we were in Pride and Prejudice. William as Mr. Darcy and I, as Elizabeth Bennett❤️not caring if anyone could see our sillyness. cheesy, but my truth🥰Les mer

  • Part 4 of Day 5

    3. august 2024, Italia ⋅ 🌙 25 °C

We got dressed in our fancy clothes (we only have 3 outfits, lol) and took in the city night life 1 more time. So happy today was not as hot and humid as it was yesterday. I was able to keep my face on🤪 we had dinner at a tourist trap and was blown away that I paid 5 dollars for a regular can of coke. We've been traveling for over 40 days, visited many big cities and small towns, and that was a 1st. I also get Im in Venice all dressed up at a little quant table, sea side as the gondolas and boats cruise by with my husband having dinner as we smile at each other confirming how blessed we are🙏Les mer

  • Day 11 Levanto Day 3

    8. august 2024, Italia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Last night we went and had dinner at a place recommended to us. 3rd génération running the restaurant. I thought I'd try something new to me. Very popular dish because I have seen it so many times on tables. William was willing to have some too. It was pasta with all kînds of seafood called Spaghetti 🍝 alo Scoglio. It was very good. Even William enjoyed it.
Until I found myself dying over the toilet and the bidet at the same time because it was coming out every which way. Guys... the stomach pains were as bad as labor. William was fine. We shared the meal so it wasn't food poisoning. After William doing some research, based on my symtoms, I'm probably alergic to muscles. I've ́never had them before but I've had other shell fish with no problem. I feel like I wasted all day today to recover some but there was no choice. My nurse loved me and took care of me well. Tomorrow, we're off to Pisa then Florence.

  • Part 5 of Day 13

    10. august 2024, Italia ⋅ 🌙 32 °C

After a long day of sightseeing, we got cleaned up and put on our best outfit and went out and had a nice dinner. Walking around town on a Saturday night we came across a DJ in the open plaza next to the Cathedral playing techno. Of course we had to get our groove on... u know me, I love to dance😁 music going, the Duomo and cathedral in the back ground, 88 degrees at 11 pm, while a few hundred of us souls letting loose with our dance moves in the middle of the plaza living our best version... TY God😁🥰🙏Les mer
