Croatian Cuisine

Because we had bought the Dubrovnik Pass, we had free entry to a bunch of different museums and attractions for 24 hours. The Canadian girl I'd met, Iseonna, had asked to join me for some of the activities since we had both bought the pass at the same time. I figured it was better than doing everything on my own, so we spent part of the day exploring together while Jack went ziplining. Jack had also decided to come to Montenegro with me, meaning we wouldn't be parting ways just yet. This was great news, as I wasn't quite ready for the trip to end with us going our separate ways.

The museums were pretty good, especially considering they were essentially free with the pass. If we'd had to pay full price for them individually, though, I probably would have been pretty disappointed. We visited a cultural museum and a natural history museum before deciding we'd seen enough and going back for a much-needed rest. Most of the day was spent doing exactly that—taking things pretty easy.

Eventually, I said goodbye to the Canadian girl, as we were heading our separate ways after Dubrovnik, and caught up with Jack. Once Jack finished ziplining, we found a nice little spot on some rocks overlooking the water, which was perfect for a few beers while watching the sunset. It was a pretty relaxing way to finish the afternoon.

Afterwards, we had booked a restaurant to try some traditional Croatian food. Trying traditional food is something we like to do in every country we visit, and although this was essentially a slow-cooked roast, it was prepared in a traditional way. The meat was cooked in a cast-iron pot surrounded by hot coals, and it was unbelievably tasty. It did, however, come with a pretty hefty price tag—€45 each. Still, that's part of travelling, so we bit the bullet and paid for it.
That was pretty much it for the night. After the huge feed, we were both absolutely stuffed and more than ready for bed, so we headed home for the night.Läs mer
