• Travel Day #2

    August 17, 2023 in Slovenia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

After my long night in the Corfu airport, I was rewarded with a busy flight to Frankfurt, followed by a heavily delayed flight from Frankfurt to Ljubljana. I wasn't overly upset about the delay, though, because at one point I thought I'd actually missed the flight entirely. Luckily, time zones exist, and I was gifted an extra hour to make it to the original departure time. As it turned out, that extra hour was completely unnecessary. The flight was delayed by another hour and a half anyway. Followed by 45minutes sitting on the tarmac waiting for take-off. Eventually, though, we were in the air.

After roughly three hours of waiting around, I finally arrived in Slovenia – although the actual flight from Frankfurt was only about an hour. I jumped off the plane, onto a bus, and eventually arrived just outside my accommodation in Ljubljana. The hostel itself was pretty average. I didn't have access to a power outlet for most of my stay, and the kitchen was constantly dirty, but thankfully I spent very little time inside anyway.

Given that I'd be in Ljubljana for a few nights, I thought the responsible thing to do was make a big feed of pasta that would last me a few meals. So, I gathered whatever energy I had left and headed to the grocery store. The pasta wasn't particularly good, but it did the job. Four meals for €9 isn’t bad either.

And that's basically the entire day. After the chaos of the previous night, followed by flights, delays, buses and airports, there wasn't much sightseeing to be done. In fact, the pasta is quite literally the only photo I have from the day. Not exactly the most exciting entry, but that's travel sometimes.
