Shrewsbury — Darwin Festival

Shrewsbury is the birthplace of Charles Darwin and the town is in the midst of their annual Darwin festival. I jumped on a tour about Darwin’s childhood in Shrewsbury and saw the church and school he attended. There’s a statue of him outside the city hall which was actually the Shrewsbury School when Darwin was a boy. He was baptized in the Church of St Mary the Virgin, a medieval church with beautiful stained glass. The woman giving the tour was a Brit who lived in Westfield for many years and had fond memories of New Jersey.もっと詳しく
