Oaxaca pacific coast

Unser nächster Stopp war die Pazifikküste des Bundesstaates Oaxaca. Wir kamen nach einer 13-stündigen Fahrt mit dem Nachtbus in Puerto Escondido an, einer sehr belebten und berühmten Strandstadt. Um unser Visa-Problem zu lösen, folgten wir dem Rat des Einwanderungsbüros in San Cristobal und gingen zum internationalen Flughafen hier. Leider konnten sie uns nicht helfen, also schickten sie uns zum Einwanderungsbüro in der Stadt, aber auch dort konnten sie uns nicht helfen. Nun werden Isabelle und ich uns illegal in Mexiko aufhalten und hoffen, dass wir nicht von der Polizei kontrolliert werden, da wir keine Möglichkeit haben, legal im Land zu bleiben, ohne das Land zu verlassen und wieder einzureisen, was viel Zeit kosten würde und alle unsere Reisepläne zerstören würde. Am Flughafen müssen wir nur eine Strafe von 30 USD zahlen, also wird das kein Problem sein. Die eigentliche Sorge ist die Polizei, die uns im schlimmsten Fall festnehmen könnte. In der Regel wollen sie nur Geld und lassen einen in Ruhe, also mal sehen.

Da Puerto Escondido sehr belebt, überfüllt und groß ist, planten wir nur eine Nacht dort zu bleiben und dann in kleinere Beachtowns eine Stunde südlich zu fahren. Hier blieben wir in Mazunte, einer kleinen Stadt mit einer super entspannten Atmosphäre und einem wunderschönen Strand. Wir haben hier ein Paar nette Mädels aus Österreich in unserem kleinen Hostel kennengelernt und verbrachten die meiste Zeit mit ihnen. Die Sonnenuntergänge sind wie immer das Highlight am Pazifik
Es war der perfekte Ort um studenlang abends am Strand zu chillen und einfach die Seele baumeln zu lassen und nichts zu tun.

Am letzten Abend gingen wir in eine benachbarte Strandstadt namens Zipolite, bekannt für seinen FKK-Strand und die super Hippie-Atmosphäre. Ehrlich gesagt habe ich diese Stadt geliebt. Jeder lief entweder nackt oder bekleidet herum und genoss es, sich so auszudrücken, wie er wollte. Die Leute rannten am Strand entlang in einem String-Tanga oder völlig nackt, und es hat niemandem gejuckt... einfach genial... pure Freiheit hier haha. Nachdem wir Stunden am Strand und in einer Strandbar verbracht hatten, plauderten und die Stimmung und das Gewitter über dem Ozean genossen hatten, kehrten wir nach Mazunte zurück und gingen in unseren Lieblings-Crêpes-Laden, wo ein DJ entspannte Bassmusik spielte. Im Grunde genommen war hier in diesem Dorf jeder auf Gras, außer mir, haha, aber ich habe es einfach geliebt. Leider erlaubte mein Zeitplan es mir nicht, länger zu bleiben, da ich nächstes Wochenende in Puebla sein muss für die verrückteste Wanderung meines Lebens. Also geht es als nächstes in die Hauptstadt der Esskultur in Mexiko... Oaxaca City. Our next stop was the Pacific coast of the state of Oaxaca. We arrived by nightbus after a 13-hour journey in Puerto Escondido, a very busy and famous beach town. To solve our visa problem, we followed the advice of the immigration office in San Cristobal and went to the international airport here. Unfortunately, they couldn't help us, so they sent us to the immigration office in the city, but they couldn't help either. Now, Isabelle and I are going to stay illegally in Mexico and hope not to get checked by the police since we have no possibility to stay legally in the country without leaving and re-entering, which would cost a lot of time and disrupt all of our travel plans. At the airport, we will just have to pay a fine of 30 USD, so that won't be a problem. The real concern is the police, who could detain us in the worst case. In the normal case, they just want some money, and they let you go in peace, so let's see.

Since Puerto Escondido is very busy, crowded, and big, we anticipated staying only one night there and then heading towards smaller beach towns one hour south. Here we stayed in Mazunte, a little town with a super chilled vibe and a beautiful beach. We met some nice girls from Austria in our little hostel and spent most of the time with them playing games, watching the incredible sunsets, and chilling at the beach until the night. It was a perfect place to just let the soul wander and do nothing.

The last evening, we went to a neighboring beach town called Zipolite, famous for its nude beach and super hippie vibe. Honestly, I just loved this town. Everyone was running around either naked or with clothes, enjoying expressing themselves as they wanted. Guys were running on the beach in a string thong or completely naked, and nobody gave a care... just brilliant... pure freedom here, haha. After spending hours at the beach and in a beach bar chatting and enjoying the vibe and thunderstorm over the ocean, we got back to Mazunte and went to our favorite crepe shop, where a DJ played some nice chilled bass music. Basically, everyone in this village was on weed except me, haha, but I just loved it. Unfortunately, my time schedule didn't allow me to stay longer since I have to be in Puebla next weekend for the craziest hike of my life. So the next station will be the food culture capital of Mexico... Oaxaca City.
