• Maloja and Flüelapass

    25. Juli 2019 in der Schweiz ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Down in the valley, it was time to use the Paddle! We decided, despite the strong wind, to go for a short trip on the water. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bad idea. Not only was it very difficult to come back, but out in the water the paddle suddenly broke. With effort and after quite some time we eventually returned to the entry spot. After enjoying a nice lunch on the board of the lake, our trip continued to St. Moritz, Zernez and ended on the Flüelapass, where we spent the night.Weiterlesen

  • Julierpass

    25. Juli 2019 in der Schweiz ⋅ ☁️ 7 °C

Escaping the heat and enjoy the fresh morning! The second day started with a nice drive through along the Julierpass. Near the top, we stopped and first of all had a good breakfast. The climb up to Leg Grevasalvas turned out to be more difficult than anticipated. Mainly because of blisters on my feet (wrong socks on the previous day). A fantastic lake awaited us on the top. A quick swim and down we went again.Weiterlesen

  • Thusis

    24. Juli 2019 in der Schweiz ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

We arrived at our first stop. Originally I had planned to stay somewhere in the nature, but finally decided to go to the camping place in Thusis. This means comfort like toilets, shower, electricity and and shop. But it also meant noise, other people and Awen restricted on leash.
On our way from Splügen we stopped at the Hinterrhein and refreshed ourselves in the freezing cold, but cristal-clear water.
While I was totally exhausted and tired, Awen seemed to be not the least tired and asked to play and go for more walks!
Another swim in the Rhein finally made the trick. Awen started to relax and sleep. 😀

  • Splügen

    24. Juli 2019 in der Schweiz ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

After an early start leaving home before 7am, we already arrived at the parking place of Splügen just after 8:30am. This was the start point of the first hike of our "Tour de Suisse". Along the Splügen Pass Street, we soon arrived at the Cable car station. From there it was a steady climb to the lakes of Suretta. Some Marmots welcomed us on our way up (or rather they screemed at us). Little streams could be found along the way and provided Awen with some refreshment. After the last steep climb, we arrived at the beautiful lakes, with their green color. It didn't take Awen long to jump into the cool water and to catch the ball.
2 hours later, we arrived back where we started in the morning. The track had taken us along the steep forest path down to Splügen.

  • Nez de Jobourg

    14. Oktober 2018 in Frankreich ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

Finally, after 1 week of sunshine and very warm temperatures, we had some rain. But this didn't stop to discover the area and so we did a nice long walk from the nez de Jorbourg to the beautiful baie d'ecalgrain. To get dry and warm again, we enjoyed some delicious organic crêpes with a bottle of cidre.Weiterlesen

  • Goury

    13. Oktober 2018 in Frankreich ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Finally, we arrived at the cap de la hague or "the end of the world". The wild nature and the rough sea really impressed us and we fell in love with this isolated piece of land.
At a little restaurant Sylvie was finally able to enjoy a delicious lobster (which was a quite a challenge to eat).Weiterlesen

  • Long walk through sand dunes

    7. Oktober 2018 in Frankreich ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

We wanted to use the afternoon to discover the area little. We found a nice walk that brought us through pine forests and big sand dunes on a very deserted beach. Despite that the walk was only 4km long it took us over 2 hours. Walking in soft sand was more difficult than we had expected. And so, even Awen was finally very tired in the evening.Weiterlesen

  • Le Crotoy

    7. Oktober 2018 in Frankreich ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Starting very early in the morning, we travel all the way from Home to Baie de Somme. As this is the first time we travel with Awen that far, we were a bit worried, if he will be able to stand such a long journey. We did various stops on the way and some long walks in order to allow Awen a lot of breaks. He was very brave and did not complain at all. And so we arrived after lunch at the sea. On a long, deserted beach, Awen was able to run freely and had his first try of some sea water. Due to our little castle on the shore, we were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset over the bay.Weiterlesen

  • Etappe 4 - Roscoff to Camaret-sur-Mer

    11. Oktober 2017 in Frankreich ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

Lighthouse day. Visiting several lighthouses on our travel from Roscoff to Camaret-sur-Mer was very high on my priority list. We had no blue sky, but some nice and interesting cloud formations, that made the view somehow more interesting. The first stop was at the Kermorvan lighthouse, where big waves crashed on land. Being there early in the morning enabled us to avoid other people at the lighthouse in order to take some nice pictures. The second stop was at the lighthouse Petit Minou, just outside of Brest. After a driving through Brest and the regional Park d'Armorique we arrived in Camaret-sur-Mer, a little fishing village. The afternoon was used to discover the area with our Bikes.Weiterlesen
