    Melbourne

    January 2, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

From Darwin we flew to Melbourne for Christmas! We did another house sit here to save money. We were very lucky only being 10 minutes outside the city centre. Melbourne has countless nice cafes and restaurants. We had to exercise real control to stop ourselves becoming even more blubber filled. We also went to see the fireworks at new year. The rest of the time was spent relaxing, site seeing and eating. Visits to the Eureka sky tower, botanical gardens, the beach, the tourist tram and the Australian moving image centre were all done, along with a trip to the Wallace and Gromit museum. The highlight though being a visit to the 90,000 seater Melbourne Cricket Ground for the third day of the Ashes Boxing Day test. Even Susie enjoyed it (or so she said).
