• Khao Sok National Park

    18–19 ago 2024, Tailandia ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

  • Elephant Sanctuary

    20 agosto 2024, Tailandia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

We visited a Elephant Sanctuary on Koh Samui where Elephants live that got rescued from Tourism or other places. This was on Josh Bucketlist but we all enjoyed the time there. We could feed the Elephant with fruit and handmade riceballs. It was really fascinating to see them upclose and just an amazing afternoon.

  • Koh Tao

    22–26 ago 2024, Tailandia ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

On the first day Josh was still around but had to leave in the evening 😭 So i had used to travel on my own again. Luckily i meet some nice people on Hostelworld that also drove me around on a scooter cause the streets are sooo busy and chaotic and there are a lot of tourist with injurys from scooter accidents. In the evening i went to a jungle party which was at the coolest location ever Koh Tao is a small but pretty island. Unfortunately i didnt do a lot cause i got very bad stomach problems and fever so i had to take antibiotics and stay in bed. BUT i could join my advanced scuba class and finished it 🥳Leggi altro

  • Advanced Scuba Diving

    26 agosto 2024, Gulf of Thailand ⋅ ☁️ 29 °C

I did my scuba advanced diving certificate on Koh Tao. That includes a deep dive, navigation and boyancy training and a night dive. I was very nervous about it because diving is scary sometimes and I feel bad when I don't perform well. But I improved a lot in my oxygen consumption, buoyancy control and confidence. The first dives were more training than fun but on the night dive we saw so many cool things (huge sleeping turtle, cuttlefish, stingray, huge grouper)
We didn't do a wreck dive cause we spontaneously found whalesharks. LIKE WTF these are so rare. But it was a dream of mine and even tho that dive wasn't very good it was just amazing to see that beautiful whaleshark
The team, emma my buddy, James the dive master and nick were really nice.

  • Bangkok

    28–31 ago 2024, Tailandia ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

My last stop in Thailand (for now) is Bangkok. Because I've been in Bangkok before so I already saw the most popular tempels and could just concentrate on the chill things.
I went to Lumphini Park to see the warans (big lizzards) strolled through China Town and joined a trip to the big buddha with the hostel. There I met amazing people. With that group I spend a lot of time. We had dinner together and went to the restaurant that apparently invented pad thai. The day after I took some time for myself had a pedicure, read a bit in a park and enjoyed food and drinks. In the evening I met up with the crew and we went to a mall which was amazing. There was a watershow going on. A huge area with streetfood. Sooo many shops, amazing design and a nice view from the terrace. After some shopping and food we went to a rooftop bar at a very expensive hotel. The view was immaculate and the vibe just great. Being rich just feels great. Had to go back to the hostel tho which is I some ways even better than Hilton Hotel. I' m going to Cambodia next and tbh looking forward to it. I loved Thailand but it's time for a new country🥰Leggi altro

  • Siem Riep & Ankor Wat

    31 ago–3 set 2024, Cambogia ⋅ ☁️ 32 °C

First Stop in Cambodia (and probably most important) is Siem Riep. I stayed in a very cool hostel, including a own restaurant and 3 pools. Surprisingly they use US Dollar in Cambodia ?
Ofc the main thing in Siem Riep is Visiting Ankor Wat. I bought the 3 day pass and did a guided sunrise tour on the first day and a bug afternoon tour on the second. On the second there was a big thunderstorm so we unfortunately couldn't see the sunset. Which was nice because it is sooo fucking hot in Cambodia.
But the whole Area and the different temples are sooo big and you could see so much and really enjoy the mythical Ancient atmosphere.
Except the temples I didnt do much except visiting a butterfly garden which was nice. So far the food in Cambodia is a bit boring compared to Thailand.
Unfortunately I snapped my ankle at the second temple tour and fell but so far walking is still possible🤞

  • Day Tour around Battambang

    2–3 set 2024, Cambogia ⋅ ☁️ 31 °C

I booked a Full Day Tour with my Hostel in Battambang to get to know a but about Cambodian Culture. We tried some traditional bamboo sticky rice, watched people doing handmade Rice paper and tried some homemade cobra Rice wine. We also learned a bit about the dark and brutal history in cambodia under the red khmers. We then drove a bamboo train which felt a bit like a rollercoaster without seat belt and visited the killingcave and the bat cave. The bat cave is home to 6 million bats that all flew out as soon as the sun set.
On the way from the first cave I lost my group and got lost and after wandering around on my own in the jungle I found a police officer who drove me to the right place.
Was a long interesting and exhausting day.

  • Phnom Pehn

    4–5 set 2024, Cambogia ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

I took the sleeper bus from Battambang to Pnohm Penh but unfortunately didn't got a lot of sleep. I arrived 5 at the morning and decided to join a tour with the Mad Monkey Hostel. The Tour included S 21 also know as a former prison and torturing place under the Khmer Rouge. It was really interesting to learn about the History of Cambodia. It was also very intense to heat about the cruelty that happened in there. People were tortured and killed, even children. After that we visited the killing fields which includes mass graves from over 8.000 bodies. The tour was disturbing but also interesting and a must do thing in Cambodia. I met very lovely people on that tour and in the hostel and we did a khmer family dinner and a music bingo together. My plan was to go to Laos from Pnohm Penh but apparently it is storming there for the next week so I had to change my plans. I found a cool alternative thoLeggi altro

  • Taipei🇹🇼

    6–11 set 2024, Taiwan ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

Surprise Surprise. I flew spontaneously to Taiwan instead of Laos and the first Stop is Taipeh. Taipei is very different to the countries I ve been in this route. It s giving China meets Japan vibes. Tourism is not a big thing in Taiwan yet so not a lot of people speak English and they do look weird at me when I walk along the streets. I did some self care in Taipeh and had a facial and a haircut. The haircut was such a nice experience. The designer couldn't speak English very well so we used a lot if Google translate but he was such a nice guy and we had very good talks and he ordered food for me to try?!? The buildings and memorials are just massive.
And I had the best sunset view so far. It was just immaculate.
Food wise is Taiwan not my favorite. Hotpot is amazing but otherwise they eat a lot of pork and beef with a lot of fat, blood sausage, intestines and the worst smell stinky Tofu.

  • Beitou

    8 settembre 2024, Taiwan ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

Visited Beitou. 30 min by MRT from Taipei. It is quite popular because of the thermal activities and a lot if hot springs. I visited a Hot Spring Museum which was in this ancient Japanese Onsen building and surrounded by a beautiful park. After lunch I visited the Thermal Valley which was nice but it was already so hot outside that the hot sulfur steam was a bit too much.
In general I find it really difficult to eat in Taiwan because the restaurant are all (even MacDonalds) full, totally cramped with people. And the food is quite expensive and not really good

  • Jiufen

    10 settembre 2024, Taiwan ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Daytrip to Juifen with Simon (German guy I met through Hostelworld)
Juifen is a small town that has a big tea culture and a lot of traditional tea houses. It is so popular because of the beauty of these tea houses and the red lanterns that are placed all over the city. The tea house in the picture was the inspiration for the Ghibli Movie Spirited Away /Chihiros Reise ins Zauberland. It was really magical to see all of the lanterns in this beautiful town.Leggi altro

    17 settembre 2024, Corea del Sud ⋅ ☁️ 32 °C

After spending the first night with a amazing group of people where we had Korean Barbecue, went to a Karaoke Bar and had soo much fun. I spent the first day visiting the oldest Palace Gyeongbokgung. Very big Area to explore and many people dressed up in Hanboks (traditional Korean clothing) It was very hot even if my plan was to escape the heat in South Korea a bit. After the palace I explored the surrounding area, found a StreetFood Festival and a K-Drama Exhibition that was for free. And visited the Seoul Museum of History. I finished the Sightseeing Day with some Streetfood for dinner.Leggi altro

Did a Tour to the DMZ. The Demilatarized Zone between North and South Korea. On that Tour I learned a lot about the Korean War and the current Situatatiom. The Tour included a Q & A with a Northkorean Defector. It was very interesting to ask questions about the Life in North Korea and her Story how she escaped. We also visited an Observatory where we could overview North Korea and visited a Tunnel that North Korea made to invade Seoul.Leggi altro

But I decided to do the Hike anyways but on the top there was unfortunately no view cause it was too foggy😭 After that I was just wet and cold. But I took the wrong bus so it took me 3 1/2 h to get back to the hostel in my wet and cold clothes. RipLeggi altro

  • Seoul Day 5

    25 settembre 2024, Corea del Sud ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

Arrived in Seoul again after the short trip to Jeju. Went to a cute coffeeshop and walked around the area a bit. My ankle was still hurting after the injury so I went to the pharmacy and got medication. After a Eggdroo sandwich I went to a meerkat cafe where you could meet meercats, foxes, racoons, wallaby and more. It wa very interesting and cute. The meercats were a bit scary tho. After that I check in the hostel. In the evening I finally met Yesong and ws so happy to have dinner with her. We had some Korean Barbecue and it was good to have a local to teach me some things. She even brought me present! I really enjoyed seeing her again and after dinner we took the cutest pics in a fotobooth.🫶🤩Leggi altro
