This tomb is allowed 120 visitors every 3 days to help preserve its integrity. The hike in and out was taxing but worth every step!!!!

The stone blocks were set in place with various size gaps to accommodate the movement of the earth only to strengthen the structure as time went on. Brilliant construction.
ПутешественникI always think that people before didn’t know much but then you have engineering like this and you have to think about what they knew in comparison to us now and they created these!! Whoa!! They were amazingly smart!!!

Whoa! In comparison the Sphinx is waaayyy smaller than the pyramid! And the Sphinx is huge! I can’t imagine what it’s like to see in person
ПутешественникOh yea, a fraction of the size. And it looks much different from one Pyramid to another but in actually on 20 feet difference in hight.

Every hole or what looks like tunnels are tombs. This area is an active dig sight—the distinction between desert and farmland I found fascinating.
