It takes five years for a bald eagle to get a white head. Once they get this level of maturity, Bald Eagles start building their nest to have a family. Eagle pair for life.

The Bald Eagle was chosen in 1782 as the national bird of the US.

Their vision is 6-8 times sharper than human’s.

    Females are larger than males.

They can lift up to 8 pounds.

In its first year an eagle’s nest measures about 6.5 feet across while older nests can reach 10 feet across. Throughout the seasons eagles keep adding sticks to their nest, and they reuse nests, continuing to build on them for many years. An older eagle nest can have over 20 feet of sticks encircling the nest, reaching almost two tons in weight.

Sundance, a Golden Eagle, was found in Southern Utah after being injured from a gunshot wound.
