    Grandmother, a Golden Eagle, was hit by a car. The accident caused a severe wing injury which was set, but her wing never healed properly. Because of the injury, Grandmother cannot fly.

    Golden Eagles are found in mountaIn canyons, buttes, rim rock, and grasslands. They can also be found in tundra, bush lands and coniferous forests.

    Golden Eagles are often spotted along watercourses, on utility poles or rocky crags.

    They are one of the largest, fastest and most nimble raptors in North America.

    Their nests are made of sticks and usually built on cliff ledges and in trees.
