Tall Chief Campground is just outside Seattle, WA and when we arrived they told us sites were first come-first served and that any site would fit our rig. Matt was skeptical, but we found our campsite nestled in the jungle-woods. Then we made the rookie mistake of not leaving enough room for the bedroom slide 😔. It was annoying to have to pack back up, hook up the truck, and shuffle the camper over, but mostly no harm done. The campground had a great pool so we opted to drown our sorrows there.

We did a day trip to Snoqualmie Falls and Seattle. The falls themselves were impressive, but the hike down to the base through the forest was the real highlight.

Then we visited the Aviation Museum (free with our Discovery Center membership!). Boeing headquarters is here and it was evident that they support the museum because it was enormous, with lots of exhibits and real aircraft to explore (Air Force One, F-14, F-16, Harrier, and even the space shuttle!). We drove downtown through Pike Place before looping back to the campground for an evening swim and had the honour of being the last swimmers before they closed the pool for the season.

On Tuesday Matt spent the morning visiting local shops to track down a replacement wheel for Williams bike and a new ignition for the BBQ. In the afternoon we got to shred Duthie Hills MTB Park. It was incredible, trails for all skill levels! Willow's favorite trail was Boot camp and Weston loved the flowy Deuces Wild.

There is lots more to explore here, but it will have to wait til next time.... The mountains were calling so we set out toward Mount Rainier.
