• Stuff the British didn’t steal… maybe?

    “Do you want to go to the museum?” Fateh asks me after we leave the railways station. “Not really thanks” I reply until I see the building… “Actually I think I will go in and have a look.” It was the building that drew me in, but the contents were interesting too. As soon as I walked in the first thought was the ABC series “Stuff the British Stole”. Except in this case is it stuff the British didn’t steal given it’s still in India? That was quickly changed to “Stuff the British probably stole but didn’t get it to London and out of India before independence” given some of the exhibits were from Egypt and Greece.

    I spent about an hour wandering through the galleries just taking in the art and exhibits. I’m not a big gallery or museum reader, but like to just look and the cool stuff #yeahimbasic. The internal architecture of the building was my favourite part (as is the case with many historic museums or art galleries I’ve visited) followed by the colourful paintings and sculptures. Would recommend especially when the monsoon rain outside gets heavy.
