• Casrto not Bilbao

    24. april, Spanien ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

We were in Castro today. It's a fishing village about 45 minutes out of Bilbao. We had a guided tour that of course didn't let us go into the pretty Church or even stay still around it to take very many pictures. Mom and I snuck in and then got separated from the pack. Hehe

Mom and I both decided that we would be more than happy to go back to Castro and if we needed to pick a spot in Spain to live , because you know we've seen everything in the last 12 hours, we would pick Castro. It reminded us both of the Oregon coast. Green, open, hills and windy roads . It also smelled the same, had very similar vegetation. The only thing missing were wild blackberry bushes.

We snuck into a couple shops that we weren't supposed to cuz apparently you're supposed to stay with the tour guide. We were making it quick though. Yes we obviously found our way back to the boat. Everybody was really sweet as we stumbled through English/ Spanish trying to find the right sizes. Lots of charades and giggles on both sides.

We then went into Bilbao. Bilbao was boring, didn't really care for it much at all. It didn't help that we got into town right during their siestas. 2 hour lunch breaks, closing everything down except for the bars and restaurants. After much walking and confusion we were able to find our shuttle and make it back to the boat. Mom promptly hopped in the hot tub and popped some Tylenol.

We will be in Bordeaux France tomorrow docking around 2:30 p.m.
