Welcome to the top of Mount Olympus where we realised that we were the G.O.A.T.s all along. (Yes roo I did steal your line best believe it)
Greece slipped away like a moment in time, a perfectly lengthed moment in time, and now it is back home with a quick pit stop in my lovely home in Paris which I had honestly missed so much and despite all the annoying people (and of course the numerous parisiens lol) I am actually so happy to be back home.
Now onto the Greekap.
Greece started off like tourists and ended like tourists in that for one we were tourists from beginning to end and for two the first and last places we visited were probably the most touristy.
Let us begin the island by island Greekap.
Santorini: Twas very cool and home to one of my top three moments; when we walked illegally past the barrier to that little cove and then jumped off the 8 metres high rock. It also finally allowed me to fulfil my white girl dream spawned by The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants of visiting a movie like Greek town. And we actually got to sit on our roof which was a bucket list moment for me.
Naxos: honestly my least fav mostly due to the people living below us who were s c a m m i n g us and who gave me nightmares and barred me from using the pool. The Apollo temple was cool and the beaches were very paradisical.
Ikaria: honestly a smash ig and Seychelles beach was gorgeous. Also Roo lost her phone here which was funny to me. Aside from that I can’t remember what else we did I feel like it was just all beaches and hot weather. The thermal pool was freaky in a good way though.
Lipsi: the one place we didn’t have a car and yet despite that we still didn’t get atvs (through no fault of ours the island simply didn’t have any). This place has kind of melded into Ikaria to me as all we did here was also beaches and hot weather. Did get to watch my first F1 GP here though which was actually very interesting and I loved it.
Kalymnos: we had an absolutely bopping ginourmous house which was def plus we had a beach just next door. We got up to see the sunset which was a flop and it was where I discovered the delicious creation that is a Freddo cappuccino. I guess my grandparents had it right.
Rhodes: it lent its name to many a pun especially from mine and my father’s shared brain cell (thank you Ruby for the best line you ever wrote). It also had a pool which I took full advantage of and a tv which served to watch yet another GP. We also finally got some Greek culture in and visited some cool sites as well as buying me my gorgeous ring (shout out to the best parents).
All in all Greek was pretty bopping but there is one memory that will always stand out: the one of a bald guy who had permanent sunglasses tan. Twas hilarious. Twas iconic.
On to the next adventure and also apologies for never finishing my Ireland blog.
