• London Day 3

    29 Januari 2012, England ⋅ ☁️ 1 °C

We went to Starbucks for breakfast and then headed to the National Gallery. We wanted to see the Da Vinci exhibition but it was sold out.
Seemingly people had camped out overnight in the cold to be at the top of the queue.
We walked down the Mall to Buckingham Palace. The horse guards were having a bit of a practice so it was very cool to see them.
It was Chinese New Year, the year of the Dragon. There were Chinese lanterns everywhere. We passed back by the National Gallery and went in to visit Van Gogh and Monet. We went to the shop and bought cards too.
Then back to Covent Garden and Banana Rep shop. Orlaith got 2 dresses. Then we headed to Gerrard St in Chinatown. It was jammers. We bought a little dragon, (Giles) and a new year token for peace and harmony.
Went to Jamie Oliver's for lunch. It was very good and then we headed back to collect the bags.
Off to Paddington Station and on to Oxford. One of Orlaith's students was sitting just in front of us so we had to have some of our conversation as gailge.
M got the Birmingham train for the airport.
There was a long delay at security because there was a flight to Islamabad and they were doing mega checks. Smooth flight home and M executive chauffeur service was waiting.
It was a great weekend. I still can't believe I saw Strictly live. It was fantastic.
