    Philadelphia Train Station is slightly more impressive than the Waverley. A couple of hours took us from one wet city to a sunny one.

    Regardless of who is in residence The White House is quite bonny.

    As I’m beginning to feel better my appetite is improving. Still sharing a single portion though. Today we had a half rack of ribs with potato salad in the Museum of African Americans. An impressive building, with fairly depressing exhibits, one of many fabulous (& free) Smithsonian Museums lining the National Mall.

    The Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and the Mall were all looking fine.

    Equally impressive is our enormous apartment. No wonder Americans sometimes get a bit iffy about the size of European hotels.

    A Thai restaurant for 2 soups and a mixed starter finished off the day very nicely.

    And I seem to have been able to wean myself off a paracetamol habit I was beginning to develop. Would be nice for both of us if I could get through the night without coughing intermittently.
