AND CAVES

From Kura Tawhiti we drove about 6km up the road to Cave Stream. (Not Cave Creek) An almost 600mtr long Cave with an underground stream going through it. It takes about an hour to walk/crawl through if you don't mind wet dark spaces and are brave enough. When we arrived, a large group of college kids were walking up the path having just come out of the Cave. Would love to have been at the exit point when they emerged. The video is the recommended exit and Roger said there is a heavy chain in the wall to help climb out. From there we continued up Porters Pass a little way to Lake Pearson Doc camping spot where we sat in the sun and relaxed till the temperature started to cool down and it was time to think about dinner.
