Victoria and southern NSW

Drove from Cowwarr to Wilson's Promontory in the afternoon.
Weather was good for walking during our stay, but cloudy (low cloud covering peaks for first 2 days) and windy on & off. Average temp between 16 o'night and 19 in the day. Best day was when we left, and the sun came out! We slept in the tent, rather than the van, 'cos it was cooler and mossie proof.
Day 1 - Walked a long loop from Tidal River along the Lilly Pilly Gully track, along the base of Mt Bishop (low cloud covering the peak, so bypassed the peak walk), to Tidal River lookout, Pillar Point, and back to the camp-site for lunch. After lunch we had an explore along the beach.
Day 2 - we were on the Pennicott tour (2 hours) around the coast seeing seals, Sea Eagles, Cape Barron Geese and other marine birds. Found out Tassie waters start 10km offshore from Vic, so saw Tassie. Skull Island is an amazing formation. There was a 1-2m swell and wind - afternoon tour cancelled due to the increase in latter once we got back. And amphibian boats !
Day 3 walked up Mt Oberon for fantastic views - wind chill factor at the top was significant. The track was 4 wheel drive due to the telecommunications towers up there. There's a short rocky path to the summit. Shuttle buses to the carpark at the weekends, so very glad we were here during the week. Still passed other walkers, but not rush hour traffic!
Day 4 - Tried to walk to the wetlands on our way out to Melbourne, but the corrugations in the dirt road were so bad we gave up - and the road was only about 2km long 🙄.Okumaya devam et
