Killarney NSW

Today we explored the little town and its beautiful beaches before heading off on a nostalgic mission to find the old campsite my parents and grandparents used to holiday at every year back in the late 1950s and early 60s.

After a few red herrings and wrong turns, we eventually found it much further inland along the lake than we’d expected. It’s still pretty rustic and easy to imagine what it would have been like all those years ago.

We had fun comparing old family photos with the surroundings and were even able to find the same tree that appears in several of the pictures, instantly recognisable thanks to its uniquely forked branches (albeit dead these days).
