Basalt Campground= Elk & Birria Tacos

Elk, owls, ground squirrels and so many birds 🦅. I have seen more animals in the wild in one day than I have on all the hikes. This place was a fantastic stop over to break up the windy day drive to the coast. We drove into Santa Nella for cheap gas and holy shit they have Birria Tacos!!! I HAVE BEEN ON THE HUNT FOR THESE SINCE TEXAS. I gave up once we started getting into northern Arizona. I asked Becky in Waco, random people in Austin, Kate in Tucson...crickets. And low and behold, in the parking lot of the cheap Arco gas station is a Birria Taco truck. No joke the best damn meal I’ve ever had in my life and all it was was two crunchy Birria tacos with the dipping sauce.Læs mere
