    Today, we after we woke up, we went for a coffee and a nice Avocado 🥑 Bread, before we met Ryo’s Family, his Wife and two Girls… we are going all together to the Ghibli Parc outside Nagoya… it was a lot of fun, wandering through the Ghibli Warehouse, where you could do Pictures of all kinda Ghibli Movies, and Characters… we talked a lot, had Fun and just enjoyed the Day together…Read more

    After the Ghibli Park, we said Good Bye to Ryo’s Wife and Kids… and he took us to his Parents house, where we met his Parents, his Sister and Brother, they all are sooo nicee… his Mom was preparing a Sushi Night, so we had Home made Japanese Local Sushi… it was the perfect Night!Read more

    … After the Train Ride, we arrived in Kyoto, from the Trainstation we took a Bus, which was almost one hour, to the Gion District where our Hotel is.. we let our luggage there, made ourselves fresh, and went to explore the District of Arashiyama, the bus left us directly by the Bridge, and a few steps ahead we wandered up a little hill, to see the Monkey’s and also the beautiful view over the City of Kyoto…Read more

  • Tenryu-ji Temple

    after the Monkey Park, we went down again, crossed the Bridge to the Tenryu-ji Temple (Temple of the Heavenly Dragon) and his Zen Garden, located in the Sagano district of Kyoto, is the head temple of the Tenryū-ji branch of Rinzai Zen Buddhism. It was established in 1339 by the shogun Ashikaga Takauji in memory of Emperor Go-Daigo, who died in Yoshino following the civil war that brought the Ashikaga family to power. sadly there was not that many time left, because in Japan all the Temples close at 5 pm, so we decided to skip the inside of the Temple and just walk through the Zen Garden, till they close, it was really nice…Read more

  • Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

    luckily the exit of the Zen Garden leads us directly to the famous & also really touristy Arashiyama Bamboo Forest (it is so hard to take Pictures there, because it is soooo crowded, I recommend to go pretty early in the morning), but it was still a nice place to see… the bamboo forest don’t have opening hours and it is quite small what I expected..Read more

    Today is a long day and we have a lot of nice spots to go… well, we took the Bus to the northern part of Kyoto, where our first spot is the Kinkaku-ji Temple - The Golden Temple, it it one of the most famous Temple in Kyoto, and from the first second they open till the last, pretty crowded, here it is impossible to escape the crowd…Read more

  • Traditional Tea Ceremony

    The second spot is nearby by the Kinkaku-ji Temple, so excited to participate a Tea Ceremony, as we have some time till the Tea Ceremony will start, we went to a coffee shop, which is close buy…

    It was so interesting to see how the Tea Ceremony works, how you should drink the tea, with the greetings and we could do our own Matcha Tea… HMMM!

  • Pique-Nique Spot in the Green

    After the Tea Ceremony we walked to our 3rd spot… almost there we took a shortcut, and found this beautiful place in the green with a river.. as we bought before some Snacks & Drinks in the 7 Eleven, we were prepared for a Pic Nique, and this place was perfect for it… ENJOY!Read more

  • Red Bridge at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine

    … as we were strolling around the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, there was also a garden next to it, it is with a entrance fee, but only 100 yen, because we love Japanese gardens, we paid it, with no expectation wondering around the green garden, next to a small river, there we found a beautiful red bridge in the middle of the green… it looks so picture perfect, so we did quite a lot of pictures there, in the meantime we were there, it was not crowded at all… we were surprised about it…Read more

  • Ryōan-ji Temple & Rock Garden

    Next spot for today, is the Ryōan-ji Temple & Rock Garden, the Temple itself is not so big, but it has a Rock Garden, where you can sit down and meditate or just let yourself getting in to the vibe of the Garden… as well, there is a huge Ryōan-ji Temple Garden, which is pretty beautiful…Read more

  • Zen Meditation

    As for now, we walked all the way to another Temple, well, it’s more like a Temple Village, but this one is not touristy, here still monks are living… but because of it, it was such a special & peaceful place…

    Also a bit hard to find, because it was so huge, there was no one around to ask, so we had to follow Google maps… but we found the place even 15 min before… because now we have a Zen Meditation… uhh so excited…

    We rang the bell, and a real monk came to open us, he was already expecting us, so we went inside, of course you have to leave your shoes outside like in every Temple in japan…

    He explained us the meditation, how to sit, how to do it, with his broken English it was so cute, and after we had a 30 min Zen meditation… you feel so good after it!!!

  • Fire Ramen Dinner

    It was already sunset when we left from the Zen Meditation, and we made our way back to the Hotel.. well, on the way, because it was already time for Dinner we eat in this amazing Fire Ramen Restaurant, which was anyway on our way… the Perfect ending of this day!

    You definitely have to come ear here while in Kyoto…

  • Fushimi Inari- Taisha Shrine

    EARLY IN THE MORNING… because this place is one of the crowded place in Kyoto… so, we woke up at 5 am took the metro, and at 6 am we are here… there are people but way not crowded, so we could get nice pictures without anyone inside except us…

    All in all it is really beautiful here and you can walk around here like 2-3 hours uphill, also have a beautiful view from the top over Kyoto…,

  • Kiyomizu-dera Temple

    Our next spot… the Kiyomizu-dera Temple and the Neighborhood around, well, it is a place we wanted to see at least once but it was so touristy, you can’t even enjoy it…it’s quite sad, and I was disappointed, because it is a beautiful place and the Shopping street around it, is so cute, but because it’s so crowded, you can’t even see where you going, it loses the vibe…

    …We just visited it quickly and than went out of this crowded place…

    … Sunset time & we love Rooftop Bars, we found a nice one just close by, enjoying a Cocktail 🍸 for finishing up our time here in Kyoto, we had 3 unforgettable days, were visiting a lot of beautiful places, good food, and even some spots were pretty crowded, all in all we love kyoto & it is definitely an amazing place to go while in Japan…

  • Last Night at the Riverside

    As we walked back to the hotel after the Rooftop Bar, we passed one more time the Gion District which was quite empty at night… passing the Bridge and walking up to the Hotel by the Riverside, we stopped in 7 Eleven, bought some snacks and a Beer, and we were sitting by the Riverside, as many other people do the same… and enjoying the almost full moon over kyoto and the river and watching the people passing by!
