• Everglades City air boat tour

    January 17 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 75 °F

Today we headed over to the west side of the Everglades to Everglade city. There’s not much on this side of the park to see, but we did take an airboat ride through all the mangroves. Wow! This was the best part of the trip, gliding across the water and spinning with such ease was like riding a roller coaster. Or as Mike thought of it like riding in a race car on a dirt track. I was glad I was sitting in the middle of the boat and not on the edge because we came so close to some of those trees I thought for sure we were going to hit them. Our guide was great and thankfully knew exactly where he was going. To me it felt like we were driving around in circles. I can see how it’s easy to get lost in the mangroves. The nest part of the mangroves is when they form a tunnel and you can see right down the middle. You can see this in the seventh picture. We saw a few birds, but no gators over here.Read more
