Ride to Parker Canyon Lake

The weather has cooled down just a little bit and it’s a high in the low 80s so we couldn’t resist taking another ride on the bike.

We headed out to Parker Canyon Lake, where we have been several times camping. It’s a nice ride through Sonoita to get to the lake. On the way we had to stop on the side of the road to allow a police escort for a wide load to pass. The wide load was the bed of a mining haul truck. It was huge!

The elevation in Tucson is 2700 feet but the elevation at Parker Canyon is 5400 feet so it was a little bit cooler up there and it was a beautiful sunny day. We stopped and had a little picnic lunch again before returning home. It’s not a very big lake but it was pretty and so quiet there.Read more
