Long drive to Paihia in the heavy rain

This morning we checked out the hostel at 10.30. We drove to pac n save in Auckland on the way to stock up on food. It rained all day. We stopped at Snell Beach cafe for lunch on the way. In was raining quite heavily on the last part of the drive and it was dark so it was hard to see the road. One road was closed because it was washed out. We finally arrived in Paihia at 6pm.

We are staying with our friends Lisan and Quinten in Haka Lodge. The hostel is closed but they are staying there to look after the property. We are lucky we don't have to pay anything to stay. Its a lovely small hostel and has a homely feel. Didn't take any photos today because we were on the road all day and there wasn't anything exciting to see.Leer más
