• Monday was Kotor Montenegro

    2017年9月12日, イタリア ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Kotor is at the end of a long fjord and we were tendered to shore. Lee, Paul, Den and myself did a tour of boat kayak and bike. This made for an interesting day. It started out sunny but most of the day was cloudy and we finished with rain

We had a small boat take 6 of us to st mary on the rock. A small island down the fjord with a little 1000 year old church and museum. Our boat had had a few issues on the way out. When we went back to the boat it was gone! Another fellow with a slightly better bowas there to take us partway back to a spot where we got the kayaks. I guess we paddled along shore for about an hour with a light rain on and off. Back at the sbop we got our stuff and picked up bikes. They were in pretty bad shape and the road was narrow. A pretty leisurely ride along the coast showed some beautiful old ruins.
On arrival back at Kotor we enjoyed a beer in the Old Town. Then the rain came down and we had a long tender ride back to the ship, which had moved down the fjord while we were gone. Still time for a martini before dinner though!

    2017年9月16日, スペイン ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

I'm a couple days behind as good wifi has been hard to find lately. Didn't do the beach as we would have liked. Cool and it rained till noon. We then were able to catch the shuttle to town for quick walk about.
The evening show was a great British pianist, comedian and afterwards Cheryl and I went to the lounge for 'silent disco. Hilarious. Everyone has headphones and listen to different sound tracks

    2017年9月18日, スペイン ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Can't seem to beat the rain these days. But it held off and we took the port shuttle to the edge of town then got on the hop on off bus to see the sights. Unfortunately the roads down town were closed for a family bike event so we got off the bus and walked in. Den found a church service being held by the arch bishop! The rest of us waited at McDonald's lol. Headed back to the ship by cab early as the roads were busy and had to be aboard by 4. Did some packing and enjoyed a last dinner with prime rib.
I think it has been a fantastic trip but we are likely all ready to go home. I'll fill in more details when I get home.

  • Hotel lleo in Barcelona Monday

    2017年9月18日, スペイン ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

We were on an 8:30 am time to vacate room 7112 on the ship so up at 6:30 for breakfast. Should I miss 3 great meals a day? And a bar card?
A short bus transfer to downtown and the square plaza catalunia. After getting our bearings it was just a couple short blocks walk to hotel Lleo. Of course our rooms were not ready at 9:30am but they kept our luggage and gave us a map and we went to explore la rambla! Busy even on a coolish day. Unfortunately Paul has now come down with the cold bug. Most of us have had a day or two of it.
The rooms are great. We overlook the street. Have come to the rooftop pool but the water is cool and now we have lost the sun. Planning tapas for dinner!

Unfortunately Phyllis had an upsetting incident this afternoon. She was out exploring with Agnes and Cheryl, waiting for our rooms to be ready, and she was pick pocketed. They got her credit cards (cancelled - no damage), some cash and her passport. They spent the afternoon at the police department and the Canadian consulate getting the passport replaced as we leave Tuesday at noon! Fortunately they did a great job and Phyllis was able to leave with us all on Wed. Morning.

  • Barcelona on Tuesday Sep 19

    2017年9月19日, スペイン ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

This the last day of our epic adventure! It has been awesome! We ha booked a tour of Casa Battlio and Sagrada Familia. Both gigantic works by Gaudi. The church is still under construction after over 120 years and is now due to be completed in 2026. 2000 ppl per hour visit, 4.5 million a year. That is what is paying for the construction now and enabling it to finally be completed.

We have enjoyed it all with Paul and Cheryl, Phyllis and Agnes, Joyce and Lee and Greg and Margaret. Found a neat little tapas place for our last dinner.
