• Crazy busy morning walking around town chasing art at Galleries and Museums. It was very frustrating trying to find art that I wanted see. Ended up walking way more than my legs and knees wanted. Spent too much on entries - but just had to suck it up and press on. Could have gone to a Picasso Museum - in the end I didn’t - now I feel disappointed I didn’t - but I was on a mission to find my style of art instead. A few got me excited. In the end I ran out of time and legs. Got to see and feel Malaga city. It’s really lovely. A great mix of old and new. Great street system - dedicated bike paths etc. Wonderful gardens and trees everywhere. The smell of fresh cut flowers was really refreshing. A thoroughly modern and sophisticated city with tasteful historical architecture integrated with a vibrant culture. Very nice.
But I had a bus to catch to Nerja - about 80 odd Km north of Malaga on the coast and reported as having some beautiful beaches. How could I resist!
And sure enough- the place is just gorgeous. Busier than expected - but just so vibrant. I had a quick swim after arriving just before 6pm. Water was clear, sandy beach and flat water. Really looking forward to a decent early morning swim tomorrow.
I’m currently at an Italian restaurant having finished a gnocchi and gorgonzola with asparagus dish with a glass of local red wine. It’s 10:40pm and I should be in bed - but this place has such an atmosphere. So I’ve decided to treat myself to a dessert of coconut ice cream with a liqueur. I’m sure I’ll have a great sleep - even if it’s in a mixed dorm of 12 beds. From memory I think this is my cheapest accommodation 22€ for the night.
