I visited the Batu caves today. It was quite simple to get to from where I stayed. I took a train from Bank Negra, the closest station to me, for 4.20rm which is super cheap for a return train tix. Less than a pound currently. I went around 3pm and it was busy but not heaving. You have to take your shoes off to walk up the stairs and I knew this in advance so brought socks.

There were wearing bright yellow and carrying the offerings in their head or on bamboo sticks shared between 2 people or in front of them whilst climbing the stairs on their knees. My soles of my feet hurt from the rough surface going up barefoot so I can only imagine the pain those on their knees felt!

It was a beautiful experience and I enjoyed the crowds. They helped make the experience I feel.
