    Crazy journey here

    30 janvier, Angleterre ⋅ 🌙 2 °C

First Bakerloo line was severely delayed so stopped at Lambeth North and I had to walk to Waterloo station to continue my journey. Then Jubilee line delayed and moving slow. Then finally arrive at Green Park board Piccadilly line for a few stops till Barons court and some idiot jumps on the tracks. This halts the whole Piccadilly line and I have to call an Uber to get to the airport! £55 later I'm here. The drink is to relax my nerves. I'm super lucky and everything works out for my favour!En savoir plus

    5 février, Malaisie ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

Finally beach time! I was starving so got a tin of tuna and some fruits for my 1st meal. I went straight to the beach after depositing my luggage at the hotel and stayed there till sunset.

  • Langkawi Sky cab, Skybridge and Eagles n

    7 février, Malaisie ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

I loved this attraction whilst being scared most of the time. I'm glad I overcame my fear of heights and did it. The ticketing system was horrible and customer service at the ticket booth non-existent. I was confused by all the signs and the website so asked the ticketing agent to explain the options for me with purchasing combo of tickets. She said to read the boards as all the info there.

You can buy various combo tix if you want to visit the eagles nest(also confusingly called sky walk because it's glass underneath) and/or sky bridge. You can't buy all three at once because that'd make too much sense 😄

Anyways I bought Skycab and sky bridge combo for 89rm and then get off at the 1st stop in the sky cab then bought eagles next tix for 50rm. Eagles nest is scary if you're not good with heights. I kept having to take deep breaths.

Then you take the sky cab up to second station and that's where you have a 5 minute steps walk to sky bridge or you pay 10rm (of course you do) to take a lift to the bridge. I walked. It's not too bad and exercise. The bridge is worth it. Scary as well as it wobbles, as most suspension bridges do in the wind and it was plenty windy.

There is an oriental village there as well with lots of shops and food options. I didn't indulge as it's already getting busy. I arrived at 9.30am and they already started letting people in. Around 50 people already ahead of me.

  • Tengah Langkawi beach

    7 février, Malaisie ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

I went to the next beach down. It's a wonder how this place actually became a beach. The sand feels man made. The top layer is very coarse and doesn't stick to the skin and underneath is like mud. Disgusting to step on. The crabs made little drawings in the sand with little sand balls the rolled out of holes. Visually this beach was beautiful and less populated than the beach nearest to my hotel but otherwise it was smelly and the sand awful.En savoir plus

  • Batu caves

    9 février, Malaisie ⋅ ☁️ 31 °C

I visited the Batu caves today. It was quite simple to get to from where I stayed. I took a train from Bank Negra, the closest station to me, for 4.20rm which is super cheap for a return train tix. Less than a pound currently. I went around 3pm and it was busy but not heaving. You have to take your shoes off to walk up the stairs and I knew this in advance so brought socks.

There is a huge ceremony tomorrow so lots of pilgrims already started bringing offerings. There were wearing bright yellow and carrying the offerings in their head or on bamboo sticks shared between 2 people or in front of them whilst climbing the stairs on their knees. My soles of my feet hurt from the rough surface going up barefoot so I can only imagine the pain those on their knees felt!

It was a beautiful experience and I enjoyed the crowds. They helped make the experience I feel.
