Day 1 in Manhattan
17–18 Ara 2023, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri ⋅ ☁️ 9 °C
We started the day with a tour of Manhattan, Grand Central Station, Central Park and Harlem, with a local tour guide. Lunch was at the Bryant Park Christmas Market. We had dumplings, hot chocolate and Belgian waffles. It started to rain, so we took shelter on the bus. Next stop, the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. It really was spectacular. A quick stop to see the Saks 5th Ave light show and Rockefeller Christmas Tree, then off to our second show on Broadway. We grabbed a quick bite to eat at the Iron Bar then saw Moulin Rouge at the Al Hirschfield Theatre. Beautiful theatre and an amazing musical. We took NJ transit back to our hotel and turned in for the night. What a great day.Okumaya devam et

Gezgin On the Terrace’s upper level, piers have scenes representing night and day. The grand staircases leading to the lower level, as well as additional piers, are adorned with carvings that depict the four seasons with detailed renderings of fruit, flowers, plants, and birds.”

The morning was a bit chaotic. Our bus leaving time was moved up which we were very unhappy about, as we could have slept in had we known. This information was provided via email, which we did not check. The Statue of Liberty ferry was cancelled due to high winds and rain but our tour guides were able to arrange tickets for The Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art), which was fabulous, we wanted to visitOkumaya devam et

After The Met we went to the 9/11 Memorial, the Oculus and One World Observatory. Thankfully the rain cleared up and we had a fabulous view of the city from the 102nd floor.

Gezgin The 9/11 Memorial & Museum recognizes the birthdays of the men, women and children whose names are inscribed on the memorial by placing a single white rose at each person’s name on his or her birthday.

Re-scheduled trip to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. I learned some interesting things at the immigration museum and it was very cool to be so close to Lady Liberty. The ferry departed from Liberty National Park in New Jersey. They also have a 9/11 Memorial dedicated to New Jersey’s lost loved ones. It’s called Empty Sky and points to where the Twin Towers once stood.Okumaya devam et
