Day 2 in Rome

After a wonderful couple of hours in and around the Colosseum and Palatine Hill, we picnicked in the sunshine and made it through the bonkers traffic to a cafe on Piazza Venezia. We then climbed up the staircases of the incredibly impressive Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for awesome views. My vertigo kicked in a bit and Andy and the boys had to go up the glass lift to the highest lookout without me. Thomas refused to contemplate any further movement without ice cream, but suddenly gelato shops were hard to find! We were almost at the Trevi fountain before we discovered one... and then of course there were dozens. We got a bit lost on the way home, via some souvenir shopping.Läs mer
