    Day 4 on the camino

    October 2, 2023 in Portugal ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

Left Esponsende for a very challenging trail. Walked through several small cobble stoned towns. Cobble stones are hard on the feet! Stopped at one small town cafe and had a nice visit with the resident cat. After that we were into forested hill trails with lots of elevation. Found another cairn of stones and other trinkets left by pilgrims. Finished the day in Viana do Castelo. Found a former hospital ship servicing Portuguese fishermen off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador. Beautiful town with gorgeous historic buildings.Read more

TravelerYes. I can always find a cat. The cobblestones are hard on the feet even with my super thick soled boots.
