Time for the turtles

Overnight my electricity failed at the hotel so a hot sticky and restless night .
Had another day relaxing round the hotel before being picked up and transferred to the turtles 🐢 sanctuary
I arrived about 6.30pm..The accommodation is mega basic but at least have a fan and air con and my biggest worry, I don't have to share..

Dodging Sri Lanka food has finally caught up with.me at dinner!🤦‍♀️
Apparently the sanctuary was hit by the Tsunami.
Dudley,the owner turned to the Internet afterwards, to get volunteers to help rebuild it and care for the turtles.
On my journey here which in very chilled Sri Lanka time was one hour ( actually 2hrs!) I saw 2 cows wandering on the main road...noone bothers about this .

The tuk tuks don't heed road rules and there's a lot of beeping horns ,when overtaking them, to alert them of intention to pass.

The other volunteers are from Taunton, Zurich and somewhere between France and Italy.
The girl from Taunton has been here 3 times now..the other 2 are chatting inn German!
Looking at the day tour options from here I realise I have covered everything that is on offer apart from the cultural dancing .Our tour guide has said we have done approx 1200 miles on the tour .Read more
