Canyon swing

I took the opportunity today to do a canyon swing over the Shotover River from a height of 109( metres i think)
There were so many ways of doing the swing....backwards, or handstand or on a chair or trike which would guarantee to flip you upside down
When asked how I wanted to do it ..I replied elegantly with no teasing ..cos I'd seen videos of.previous people and some did get teased
I opted for cut the rope so at least there was a bit of drama
The guy in the group was going to go 1st but got to the edges
and felt unable to go 1st...so after some dithering in the group about who would go 1st ...I said I would
It was awesome fun!! The guys cut the rope and away I went
A sort of weightless feeling as I dropped and then the swing
The only thing I was concerned about was not jarring my back and not going upside down..on this occasion as I'm mindful I've lots more things planned and paid for ...So although there was an option to have another go..i decided to stick with just one go
If I can't reconcile this decision, I will go again another day.
I have the piece of rope that was cut and it is the souvenir i am most proud of !
On returning to the town centre, I mooched around the shops a little and then went for food
Today is a bank Holiday for the King's birthday!
There's more fuss here than we make, not least a 15% top up service charge on meals in.restaurants today .
After my meal I got a taxi 🚕 back to my accommodation and had fun sending out the photos and videos and getting everyone's reactions, which was just fabulousLæs mere
