• Mdina, Rabat and Silema

    January 6 in Malta ⋅ 🌬 19 °C

Today ,jill and I walked to their local village...It is a lovely place with every facility available ..good shops, lovely cafes .
It is a hilly area 🥵and I am unfit !
We stopped for a brew and pastry .We had a funny encounter with an old man who was on his
mobile .I thought he was indicating for me to be quiet because he couldnt hear....but he came out to say hed been trying to squat a fly 😅
We moved on to look around the Mdina....a walled town, high on the hills ....I had no idea this kind of place was on Malta .Being known as the Mdina made me think of Morroco
It waz a lovely location with narrow cobbled streets and squares...
We enjoyed a light lunch at one of jill's favourite cafes ,before walking to Rabat
Rabat was also quaint .Beautiful stone buildings ,strong front doors with brass knockers and square bay windows
Suprisingly ,for January ,we have been able to sit out both days ,but it suddenly turned cold
We got a taxi and returned to jill's villa
In the evening ,Jill and Aidan took me to a beautiful asian restaurant ,at the top.of a hotel theyd stayed in ....There were amazing views over the area and out to sea.We had wonderful food and a v enjoyable evening
